Well, I got my shocks and front fixed and fired up the tsunami today and apparently I fried my steering servo. Anyone have any suggestions on a decent servo for these? They are pretty small so probably dont need anything too crazy. What a drag lol I was looking forward to running my tsunami a bit today and getting a good tune on it. Guess I'll have to mess with my 8.0 till I find a servo. Maybe I'll replace both servo's if I can find something decent thats not too spendy. Thanks for the help.

the steering servo is the one you *do* want to be of good quality. it has to stand up to some pretty hard knocks (servo saver obviously helps a bit) and it needs to be quick for good steering response. Although it's not a 1/8th truck with monster tires so you don't need to go too crazy.

The throttle/brake servo only needs upgrading if you aren't getting enough braking power. but I've found the stock servo to be perfectly fine - though I did change the brake rod mounting point (on the servo horn) to get better leverage as the stock setup was rubbish. Now it easily locks up with grippy tires on the dry road.

Yeah I know it has to be decent but it doesn't have to be nuts like the one I have on my mgt 8.0. Those tires and weight of the truck is so much more. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Anyone have any idea what the size rate and speed is on the stock steering servo? Just wondering so I have something to compare it to. The redcat page is not helpful at all lol.

Does anyone know if the stampede bodies will work on the tsunami? I want this one http://prolineracing.com/p-380-chevy-c10-1972.aspx

Maybe. The wheelbase is about right - the factory body for the stampede has a wheelbase slightly shorter than the Tornado XP at least, so it probably looks mostly correct on the Tsunami given that most 'truck' bodies are designed with this look. However the stock body is too narrow to fit on the Redcats - the muffler is out too wide so the body has to be pulled out a bit to fit (I have both the Stampede and the Tornado XP)

That chevy body doesn't look any wider than stock, so I'm gonna so no it won't really fit.

I was actually looking at that servo in the tower hobby flyer. Does it plug right in or do you need some sort of conversion plug?

forlorm Im not sure what servo you are talking about but they all have a standard style plug now, not like the old days when each company had their own style. I replied to your post on the himoto forum about the servos. Im using 4 of them and I have no complaints.
I found the stock servos to be extremely slow and pretty weak. I had an extra spektrum and HPI SF-1 servo when I got my tsunami (mamba) so I changed them out at the beginning.

Futaba makes good servos too but the ones I listed have the same specs with more torque for less money. Like I said I took a chance on them and they have worked out great for me. I couldnt see myself spending $100+ on a servo.

I just did an ebay search and the s3004 servo sells for cheap you can get 4 of them for as little as 10 dollars some for more but average is about ten a servo and the s3010 is less on tower than i could find it on ebay.
