firstrc did you see the list of mods that you wanted me to post?

Hey I have been away for a while....

I havent seen the list yet I'll be checking it out soon though.

I just got the alum chassis for the Tsunami (I am modding it to fit my elec) from: http://allaboutfunhobbies.com/store/catalog/index.php It was 15.99 plus shipping.

Sorry to hear about your loss! I am rebuilding mine two.. My brother inlaw hit a mailbox post at about 30. Broke the chassis right in half... here are some pics: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7327639/mpage_11/key_/tm.htm

I am new to the forum and had a novice question.

I recently purchased two redcat tsunami epx's to mess around with in the yard. Although for the most part I am satisfied with my overall value, I find these truggys to be severely underpowered. Besides going brushless, what are some ways to economically save power? I noticed the side of the box my tsunami came in said the stock speed controller is rated to 13T motors. Has anyone tested this? Is this a misprint? A buddy of mine hooked up a 19T motor to it and it melted in a couple of minutes. Has anyone else experimented with this ESC? What is the most powerful motor I can hook up to it?

Also, does anyone know where I could get a low buck motor/ESC combo that will greatly improve the performance of the tsunami epx? Don't mean to bash redcat or anything, it's just I feel like I'm playing with a radio shack tyco RC and not one of hobby grade at the moment.

Cant really help you there man... Go brushless and dont look back... You will love it!!

other than changing it you could try to port and polish it a bit. Get a header and tuned pipe too. that will help it out a bit. Another thing is the gear ratio you have. is your clutch bell stock?

I just put an RDLogics pipe on mine. Now I just need to replace the clutch spring. It broke twice already and each time I fix it, it gets a bit tighter. What are you guys using as replacement clutch and or clutch springs?

I'm looking to change my stock gearing I have the stock clutchbell and spur gears. I bent my chasis up the other day and took the car apart and flattened the chasis out and put it back together along with a stiffer traxxas spring. While I had it apart I noticed I was missing a few teeth on my small spur gear so its time to replace it but want to give the car more bottom end. Do you guys suggest using the same spur gears and just changing the bell? Or what works best? Any part numbers or links or whatever would be cool. I kinda like the two speed if I can get it to work but the shifting seems poor sometimes. Not like on my mgt 8.0 when it shifts at all lol. Oh well.
Hey man I was sorry to see your car get smashed. It is cool you had it on video though lol. I wish I had mine on video. I was at a picnic over the weekend and jumping it off some bike ramps my nephews had set up and well it hit the ramp full speed a bit off and hit a rock about the size of a house. I bent the chasis and busted up a shock tower and a few other things. I had spares for most of it. I'm gonna run the chasis till it breaks or whatever. The engine sits in there a bit funny now too so we'll see how that works out over the next few days lol. See if I can keep from stripping gears or need to replace it Oh well. Let me now on the gears if ya can thanks a ton.

KeithjV For the clutch I got the hpi pilot shaft http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXM720&P=7 and I used the heavy duty savage shoes http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDLJ2&P=7 these shoes in this link are not the ones that I have but will work as well. There just the teflon ones the shoes I got were red.
