Ive been working on 3 different cars this week and they are starting to blur in my head. Im trying to find a manual for this engine online now.
The clutch thats on the engine right now is the two shoe type where the spring wraps around the shoes rather then each shoe having its own spring.

Yeah man thats how they are but I changed mine to the savage setup with 2 springs and its sweet. It works great and you can get them at the lhs. thats why I did it like that. You have to have that pilot nut honest man im so sure of it.

I ordered the tranny you sent me in the pm. I just need to figure out which one of those hpi clutchbells I need, and if I need anything else to make the conversion. Bearings shafts or whatever or if its just a simple direct swap with the clutch bell. Thanks again for the link on the single speed tranny. I want my tsunami to have nice low end. I'm gonna order that OS 18 soon. I looked at all the other brands of engine and think the OS would probably do the best for the money.

Forlorm before you order any hpi spur gear send me the link and I will make sure it is the one that you can mod to fit that transmission. Just so you dont buy something that you wont be able to use.

KeithjV Is there any way you could take a picture of your engine with the clutch bell off? and one with the clutch shoes off? If you dont want to use the savage shoes you can use the factory redcat shoes and get the traxxas spring for the revo 2.5 I think it is. its a tight spring but lasts. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXSP08&P=ML you cant use the shoes tho because the traxxas shoes are for a smaller bell and the pins on your flywheel are further apart.

hey guys, new here, new to the whole nitro rc craze. the tsunami is my first nitro, and I gotta say, I'm really pleased with it, just have had for a week now, 15 tanks of fuel (including 6 in breaking in) and still nothing broken. this thing runs pretty good, it can even go up my house's hill (around a 40 degree incline) right in the middle of it with no problems, there real cars that need some momentum to go up it, lol. my only complaint, the wheels and tires, the wheels are already cracked and the tires seemed to have deflated, 2 of them, they were all sturdy and after the first run flat. also, mine came with a broken throttle servo, but I'm still able to run it. check youtube and type gearguy70 you'll find the vid of my tsunami I just love this truck.

Congrats gear, Im sure its your first of many more RC's to come.
You tires shouldnt be "flat" though. If they are there is a problem with the foam inserts. Im running HPI yokohamas with HPI scorch wheels on mine and they work great.

cool, been reading the thread for about 3 days now, finally posted, lol. yeah, I'll see what I can find on the lhs, I have 14mm adapters from my Wheely King so I have more options to choose from. Thanks for the tip though I will look into that wheel and tire package also. Thanks!

Glad you like the Tsunami. I really like mine. My 2 rear tires look deflaited....................I'm told that nature of the beast. I'm told that its the foam inserts that don't last. I'm going to look for somemore foams and replace all 4 so I can have a spare set of rims incase I break a rim or something. I just ordered some new tires and rims. My only complaint with my nami would be the tires and rims. I have about 1/2 gallon through my now and its amazing how the engine comes to life from the first idleing tank to 6+ tanks.
