ahhhhhh ok guys got some news on the BB
good and bad lol , the good news is got it running today ended up putting the pullstart back on cos i really wanted to run it . the pullstart fits with a lil filing of the plastic around the engine . and OH MY GOD the power it has at just 1/4 throttle WHOA , any thing other than road like pavers or tiles and it just wheel spins and spins out like a 2wd st and on road it goes to pick the wheels up . its so much louder than i thought it would be anyways the bad news is after only a tank and a half of run in , i have buzzed the main gear away and broken a front drive shalft . the main gear was my fault because i sort of didnt get the right mesh i would have liked but ay it was my first go im still learning so round two will be much better with a few lil mods and maybe just maybe il finish running in the engine hahahhahahahahahahaha lol but this thing is a animal

uhoo just buy the drive shafts for the mt2 18ss and all the cups for the inputs on the diffs and the outputs on the transmission. The rear dog bone is a direct drop in but you have to shorten the front one for that check out the posts I made on this page its a very strong and easy setup but do not use the solder weld them with a mig I have done both and the solder eventually lets go but I have never had a problem with the welder. The mt2 drive cups and dog bones are way stronger then the redcat ones its a really nice upgrade.

uhoo I have gone through 8 drive cups and busted 4 dogbones already that was with about3 or 4 galons of fuel since I put the mt2 parts in 3 galons of fuel later and there still like brand new the only problems I am having are my side gears and spider gears getting stripped its totally worth it man

The length on shape of the inside of the pipe is what makes it a "tuned" pipe. Its probably possible to mod a stock pipe but Im not sure the time and cost would be worth the benefit. Its just easier to buy one that has already been tested for performance. But if you have the time and the tools I say give it a shot and let us know how you make out. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

I have read alot about the performance aspect of nitro and you have to "tune" a tuned pipe when you put it on. You can "tune" an oem pipe as well. When you put the pipe on (sometimes you have to get a longer silicone coupler) push it on as far as it can go, fire it up and test the performance. Shut the engine off (you have to shut it off to make it work) pull the pipe out a little bit and re test the performance just make sure that you shut the engine off every time its a must because of the way the a pipe uses sound waves to throw back air to ensure that as little fuel comes out of the exaust port as possible. If you dont shut off the engine the sound waves change when you move the pipe and sometimes cause a "harmonic affect" shortening the wave lengths. It does help but in most cases its really really little. If I find that article I will give you guys the link to it.

good info eminent. Ive read about the effects changing the header can make as well. Longer for more torque and shorter for more speed (that may be backwards though). I think he was talking about changing the inside of the pipe itself. Some pipes have 2 chambers, some 3. I havent really noticed a major difference between those pipes though.

yeah man I know what he was talking about but I dont think changing anything in the stock pipe will do anything I did notice some more speed when I took out that baffle tho

do you know what the difference is in a 3 chamber as opposed to a 2 chamber pipe?
