Been getting my planes ready for Rhinebeck. Here is a few shots of my 1/3 scale Morane A-1.This model has a Quadra 75 in it, swinging a 28-8. It was built in the late 80's. Has like a GAZILON flights on it. It's a beast!!! And dirty.
Also some detail shots of my E.V. wheels. Still have to build a 15 ft. box for the wing.

Hey Guys
I built the wing box Sat. It took me 10 hrs. And on Sunday I added the inside wing cradles. All together about 15 hrs. in the box. It's big, most definitely a two man job to move it. But It will keep the wing dry, clean, and safe. I will strap it to my roof racks to travel to Rhinebeck Thurs. morning. The trailer will have the fuselages in it, along with my Pup and Morane wings. Yes I had to do it. As you can see I painted the box to match the wing, sorta!

Hey, looks like a perfect paint job for a wing box to me. I mean, how
else would a Fokker "Nut" paint it.
Wish I could be there to see the plane, I'm sure it will be the hit of the show.
I'll get Barry and Paul to take lots of pictures, but I'm sure there will be
plenty posted.
Have lots of fun.
Later

Hope to see alot of you at Rhinebeck. I will be on site with the GTM team from early Thursday morning on till Sunday night. If anyone is looking to buy a Balsa USA 1/3 Scale D-7, I will have one there in the box for 500.00 That's 100.00 cheaper than their price. Also have a beautiful built up 1/5 scale DR.-1 all covered in the box. needs to be doped and put together. One of the ARF's that Ariziona was selling years ago, but is now unavailable. The workmanship is extremely excellent. covered in coverite. That one was regularly 675. I'll let it go for 500.00 Anyway come on over to visit us and take a look at GTM's New Fokker D-7!!!!!!!!!!

Paul, I must say that this Rhinebeck rates right up there in the 26 years I've been attending. I can't say enough how I enjoyed every ones company. Even though the weather was etch y at times, and god knows I had a **** of a time landing my Morane this weekend. fixing planes, batteries, Engine falling off the nose of the pup, wheel just mysteriously decides to come off when I was checking it on the Morane, now that was lucky, Ya man I had a blast. Not to mention the party's in the evening at the Drome! I Know one thing we ate good too! Aside from that block buster of a show, that is the full scale stuff, Rhinebeck was GREAT!!!
Martin and Jaybird
It's always a pleasure to meet people you talk with on line and who have an appreciation for the work you do. I enjoy sharing my projects with others, I learned a a lot from others when it comes to building these things. I'm glad I got to talk with you guys. And Thanks for the kind words.
I will post some pictures of the weekend soon. And Jay, Thanks for posting the pictures of my aeroplane.

Tom, I want to take this oppotunity to thank you for bugging me enough till I agreed to drive up to the Rhinebeck gathering. The group you join up there is truly special. It was a joy to meet Glenn T, Glenn (Bruno) from CA, Rich and Jack, Norm, 1/2 scale Paul, Doug, Pia and her Mom, and others that I can't remember thier names.
But especially Bob Arnold, who I was glad to assist in the repair of your planes. It was like he knew just what to bring to keep your planes flying!! Hope everyone had a safe trip back home.
Thanks too for letting me fly the Pup, the second time that is. Now I have the incentive for finishing my 1/3 Pup.
Here is my new vanity plate, I put it on after returning from Rhinebeck.

This was my second trip to the Jamboree and it was a lot of fun. I was able to get some video of the weekend but I did more flying and tlaking this weekend than the the 2009 event.

Here is a link to a montage of Saturday morning flight line activity: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GIC-V8i2Ec

Hi Guys, First of all I must thank my great friends for all their help in keeping my planes in the air. Jack C. and Bob A. You guys are the best. You both jumped right in and did repairs to my birds. Bob it's great having a hobby shop at the field!!! And Thanks to Rich F. for keeping my joints working with those wonderful Manhattans! Oh that was after flight hours of course. Doug my friend your new planes were a big hit for all of us. Great job! Also it's always great to see Bob and Rosie, and of course the one and only Lee!! And lets not forget Rich's wonderful sister Linda. Also Glenn B. all the way from California, it was really nice he joined in on the fun with our group. Glenn Torrance and Micheal Torrance, congrats on your new Fokker D-7, a very nice kit. Paul, and Barry. it was such a pleasure to be able to hang out with you guys. I was so glad you made the trip out. Your half scale D-6 is awesome. Barry sorry to see you lose your triplane. I have to say that dog fighting with my friend Jack Feroldi was a real hoot as usual. He is such a fantastic pilot! And my good friend Mitch Epstein from Ma just up the road. He flys the beautiful Waco. This years Rhinebeck was one of the best for me, I hope it was for all who attended. Lets get some more new guys out there next year. It's too bad that this is the only time I get to spend time with all these wonderful people who come from all over the country.
Tom

Ton, thank you so much, I have saved them to my special file and I am writing one of my columns for the Internet Newsletter "Radar" for publication next week. You will be featured prominently in the story. Again thanks so much Tom. After all these years you took pictures of my airplane. Norm

I will send you the article and the URL where you find it.

Gentlmen
I'm on the fence on what to do this winter. To finish the 1/2 scale E.V. I need to purchase a ZDZ 210, I can not build the dummy engine until I get the larger engine. The 160 ZDZ I have will go up for sale to put towards the larger one. The 160 has never been run. I also need to build a set of guns, Arizona Models is very interested in supplying a set. Also he wants to work with me in making up some half scale covering, in which would be printed on full scale light weight covering. There is also cockpit details to finish and a radio to be purchased. All in all it would take me at least a 1200.00 to 1500.00 dollars or more just to purchase the items needed to finish her. Work has gone by the way side for contractors in New England so spending money on the hobby is not realistic. But on the other hand of things I desperately need a new airplane to fly and have fun with. The planes I fly are both over 20 something years old. I would really love to build Glenn Torrances new Fokker D-7 kit but that alone with out everything else to add to the kit is 1200.00 I do have a Balsa USA Kit, and covering from GTM and a 2.4 radio, so all I would basically need would be glue , dope, and an engine. Most likely a Quadra 100. It will be very hard not to go crazy on changing the hell out of that kit for it is so out of whack in the scale department.
So whats a modeler to do! Any advise?
Tom
