I am setting up a Venture 30, and have a question. I have setup everything up per the instructions, and am using a Futaba Super 8 TX with non digital servos on all surfaces. When going (on the bench) from low to high pitch at a high speed, there is a noticeable "dance" (I like to call it) with the swashplate... it doesn't go straight up. It's as if the elevator servo lags behind the other 2 or something. All are the same model number servos, with the arms setup the same distance from the center of the servo. I know that particularly with non-digital servos, there can still be slight differences, but I'm wondering if there's anything that can be done to limit the "dance". It also seems as if at the top, there is a slight lean to the right of the heli (from the rear) of the swashplate, that is not seen at any other pitch point (just at the top). Should I limit the top end ATV, even though the book cautions against doing that? It's the only way I can see to keep the swashplate level at the top.

The "dance" isn't bad... but noticeable. I was just wondering if this is common, and practically impossible to remove with non-digital servos or without the higher end radios...

Thanks in advance...
-Barry

make sure all the rods are the right length. Use your sub-trims to get all the horns at 90 degrees. Other than that, you have to adjust the top end throws. The book tells you what to do on pages 29-31.

Thanks for the response! Unfortunately, I tried all of that, and still have a little "wobble" when going from low pitch to high pitch quickly. I did limit the travel of the "aileron" servo at the top end, which helped the swashplate stay level at that point, but it still has that distinct "wobble" when going from low to high at a fast pace. You can't really tell it when flying, but it just bugs me that it's there.

Just thought I'd see if anyone else had noticed it, or experienced the same thing.

Thanks,
-Barry

You might check out this link. Very similar problems reported with the Vigor CS and any other CCPM machine using Futaba Equipment.

This sounds like the EXACT same problem. I would tend to believe it's the explaination of the processing and phasing of signals sent by the TX to the servos.

Thank you VERY much for the link... at least I know it's a common issue! And, like many of these guys, it doesn't seem to affect flight performance... it just bugged me that it was doing it on the bench!

Hi

I just bought a Futaba super 6 radio and a venture 30.
What are the settings you used to setup the radio? My pitch is reversed.

thanks

bruce
