I had the SAME EXACT problem. when i was breaking in i was a total noob. i had never even seen a nitro before!
but the only way my car would stop was to hit the brakes.
i eventually learned how to tune my idle and it has never been a problem since.
but i feel ya!
when i started my car for the first time, I didnt turn my reciever on! It took off full throttle with the glow plug still in and wedged its self under my dads car.
woke all ne neghbors and broke some stuff before i even drove the darn thing!

going to have to leave it up to everyone else, i need to go to bed. have to go look at houses tomorrow, im jumping into the housing market...YAY!!!

hahaha not a good time to get into it lol
but my throttle linkage would always come detatched from the carb
resulted in a crasg with a metal poke and a bent chassis

its a perfect time to get into it. rates are low and there are a ton of forclousers. houses are about $15,000 cheaper now then they were when i was looking in june last year.

No settings are set in stone guys. Some times the idle screw works better at 1 to 2mm instead of just 1mm. Choking on throttle up is usually to rich but then again you can't set the LSN till everything is good on the HSN. If you get set up with your HSN properly you very seldom need to move your LSN more than 1/2 turn one way or the other good luck guys and keep pluggin thats the only way to learn

Here is some pictures and make sure to turn your idle trim all the way down and do all adjustments with the motor at running temp. And make a adj then drive the car around a couple of times and see where it's at. I was told to make adj like you are looking at a clock and you want to make adj in one hour adj at a time you know like from 1clock to 2 clock jsut little bit at a time. Hope it helps. Eric

Sorry to get off subject here, but I am Curious...
giddyuperic .....Why are you running TWO fuel filters on your Buggy?

holds fuel, if you race and flip it upside down its like a resivoir, keeps fuel in the line so it will run longer

I've got a customer who has 3 big fuel filters on his GT2 and the centers are removed so there is room for more fuel

well i appreciate this site. i read everything.

so my understanding(i just bought the avalanche and the hurricane(hurricane came with .21) and trying to set them up.
so run them to break in as usual.

set the hsn at 3 and the lsn not untill you think you have the hsn set right and may only need to turn half one way or the other. and the third idle screw is set at 1mm but can sometimes run better at 2mm?

any other good thoughts. sold my hpi trucks to buy these. excited.

I kinda had the same problem at first. This tremor is my first nitro experience. I did the 2 1/2 turns during break-in. Now, I adjusted the idle, and then adjusted the high speed needle so that when I pull the trigger, the engine quickly responds. I didn't have to mess with the screw on the side of the carb.(Low speed screw?)
This baby has no hesitation at all.
I love the smell of glow fuel! It brings me back to when I was 7 years old. It still smells the same.

i dont know what these people are talking about but you cant run with a 1mm opening that will run so your car wil go like you put full throttle on if the opening is that small mine is at 3mm at least and it runs like a champ sounds perfect the wheels dont spin when the car is off the ground its perfect...

Some work like that and some don't............there is nothing set in stone for adjustments and you need to learn from someone who knows
