Castle 35A or ALign 35A, both are great and have external heatsinks. I use the Align 35A and it works quite well. Osterizer uses the Castle Creations 35A.

They are set up with tones from the motor. You use the radio to set the modes.

Govenor mode tells the ESC to keep the head speed of the main rotor as constant as possible. You would set your throttle like this: 85/85/85/85/85 and the ESC does the rest.

For normal mode you would set it like this: 0/75/75/75/75

I haven't used the Align, but if Tex is OK with it, I am too .

With the Castle, if you want a really nice setup tool, you can buy the CastleLink kit (software and a USB cable) and plug it into your PC, then point and click your way around the setup instead of flipping tx sticks. You can also update the software in the ESC from the Castle web site as they fix bugs/add features and so forth. Yes, I'm a fan.

I am using the Castle Phoenix, I purchased the USB cord and downloaded the software from caslte.

you plug the usb into your computer and the speed contol and program it from your computer. This way you do not have to go through all the beeps. You nac change any setting on the EXC within 1 minute.

I have the software on my laptop, i bring it with when I am setting up the heli.

I have two CC BL systems for my on road cars and the PC setup that comes with it is an excellent tool.

Max amp draw, but most motors will list ESC requirements.

OK, Tex, I ain't gonna.

Hobby_man-- I've measured up to about 20-25A on my 450s. I wouldn't run the 430XL as hard as the JGFs, but a 35A is a good choice.

If you could return the 430XL and get a JGF450TH, then yes, I'd do it. Tex was giving me grief because I had a bad experience with a 430XL and with Align's support, so I just won't say anything good about Align motors or support-- their arrogance is stunning.

The JGF 450TH is the same price, more efficient, and a heck of a lot more reliable, and it's a perfect midrange motor for the 450. I have the 400, 450 and 500 JGF motors, and as long as I'm flying helis that they'll fit, I'll keep buying them. Why? Simple-- I have no idea if they have good product support because I've never had to call them.

HOWEVER! -- a lot of people run 430XLs on Align helis, and the 430L works well in the 450, so YMMV. There may be people happily using the 430XL on MX', but I don't know of any (anyone out there, chime in please).
