What is the current pruduction lead time for a 90?
And what 90size is best for a 9lb ish old style pattern ship?
I am looking to put 1 in a BPA ship for Huntsville contest in August!!

Lead time has been running about 3 weeks on the bigger engines. You can confirm more specifically with Dub jettengr@sbcglobal.net

Depends a bit on the plane whether Rear or Side Exhaust is needed.

If the plane is heavy, and you have the prop clearance, I would stick with the standard SJ-90L or FIRE-90L engine and go with a 12x6 prop - the bigger diameter will help with vertical performance on a heavy plane. No shortage of speed and energy entering the manuver either. The 90L is a bit more versitile when it comes to prop selection - likes to run with peak ground rpm anywhere from about 12,800 to 15,000. A FIRE configuration will be tuned to the rpm and prop you wish to use as a baseline.

The 90LX is a monster powerhouse - but we find it runs best with 11x7 - 11x9 props. No problem going this way in general - an 11x8 turning 15K+ rpm will get you tons of vertical too. This engine must be propped to turn 14K+ peak ground rpm to run properly. Aircraft generally in the 650-775 sqin wing and about 8 lbs will really enjoy this engine
