I bought this kit a couple of months back and was impressed with the speed of shipping to the Uk.Kit arrived undamaged and was well packed.

Went together pretty well with no problems.

Test flew the other day as we had a nice sunny winters morning (if a little cold!) with zero wind.Plane flew surprisingly well and was a real joy to watch!

I used 2 x brushless 400 size inrunners (1900) and 1 x 3200 7.4v Li-po turning Graupner 6x4" props.Whilst not overpowered this set-up provides scale like flight with cruising around at approx 3/4 throttle.I would not recommend a 3 cell li-po as the increase in power makes the motor pods vibrate (they are not that strong) and would probably fail after sustained power. Also had the same problem when using larger 7x4 graupner props on the 2 cell.I`m thinking of trying APC 7X3 slow props in the near future.

I may buy another one of these as they are on special at the monent - $79.00! and strip down/recover plus customize.

If you want something alittle different, this fits the bill and looks really cute in the air.

Keep `em comming Nitro!

Steve

Hello Cri Cri flyers,
I too could not resist the looks of this plane. I've only had about 5 flight that were
great due to the 3cell lipo I'm pumping into the little motors. I won't fly it again untill I get new motors.
My Question is:

If I wanted to keep my 3 cell 2100 what motors/esc/prop should I look for?
also.... I like that Idea of getting another one, $79 bucks is a great deal!

Mike,
I`d be also interested what brushless motors/props could be used with 3 cell lipo`s.As mentioned earlier, the pods are not that strong and are prone to vibration at high power.

From my previous thread I`ve changed the props to Apc 7x4 slow fly which give me more power than the 6 x 4 graupners (still using 2 cell`s) and don`t cause any vibration problems.

I don't have this plane so take this with a grain of salt!

At 37oz I'd consider putting in a PAIR of 300 or 400 sized brushless motors like the 400DF's or 400XT's and seperate 25A or 30A ESC's and 2100 or 2200 3S LiPo batteries for each motor running off a Y harness.

This will bring the AUW up to about 42-43oz, but you would get a LOT of power and the run times should improve greatly.

The wing loading will increase so you would have to land it a bit faster and watch for a slightly faster stall speed.

Prop selection would depend upon how much draw you want.

You can do all of this on the cheap given the stuff that NP sells.

Hey guys,
Mike here and I just purchased the cri cri and almost have this complete, I am using the 380 brushed motors it came with, what esc would be recommended and I am almost loosing interest in electric so if anyone wants one I have one with everything included except an esc but I have a 20 amp for brushless if that works, ( I know nothing about electrics and having a buddy build this for me).

Hi Expert Tees, dont mix a brushless speed controler with a brushed motor, or the outhe way around either. I"m hope your buddy knows how to set it up for you.
Hello ,,,,, all others.
I'm shure you've all seen the pix of the Cri Cri with the jet pods..... wow ... is this possible ? Does Vesa or some other maker come close to having one the right size?

Still lookin for that pair Mike in Viginia Beach
