What does everyone do(Winter) when it's too cold to comfortably fly and/or too windy to fly and you really don't have a "current project" to work on. Do you resort to sims and practice rolling circles or is this a good time to re-plumb fuel tanks etc.?

we fly electrics in gymnasiums and indoor sport centers. there is always maintenance to be done, cycling batteries, checking engine mounts, repairs and the like.
i am performing an inventory on all my hardware this weekend. also checking the engines on the shelf to make sure they still turn freely. there is always something to keep you busy. if you run out of things to do, get yourself a new project.
so many planes, so little time

When I have several days of down time, I always go over my plane to make sure nothing has come loose.
If I know I will have more than two weeks, that is when I pull receivers, engines, and servos to send them in to be serviced.

The itch got too bad yesterday. It was 5F oustide with a 5-10mph wind making the windchill below zero. Way too cold to fly right? Well, I have a old beater Styker that I set up brushless long before they offered them brushless, that I just got a couple of thunder power batteries off of ebay for it. So I thought I would test both batteries so I could leave feedback for them. Didn't get the chance to run both batteries in it. WAAAYYYY too cold to fly. Fingers got to the point of hurting in about 5 mins on the gimbles(I don't fly with gloves) The last launch, I had the plane in my left hand, radio in the right, so I used my mouth to hit the throttle. My lips actually stuck to the gimble!! Oh well, I'll just have to waite for warmer weather to go again. Next weekend the weather is supposed to hit a tropical 30F Should be warm enough to run some nitro through the PULSE on skiis

Until then I will be satisfied to clean, organize, and check over all the planes!!

My girlfriend is into RC stadium trucks so I help her in the "off season." It is also a great time to add some bling bling to the planes. I have added a smoke pump on my gasser, and adding some color to other planes that were just a single color covering. I am also building a heated shop in the front of my garage to work on planes since half of them won't fit in my basement.
