Don M. -> Cool Power Fuel Question ??? (2/12/2007 3:42:04 PM)

For the last 2 years I have been using Cool Power Pro Pattern 20% fuel. All this time I was under the impression that it contained 20% nitro & 20% lube oil. I just visited their web site and found that it only contains 15% nitro & 20% lube oil. Now they also list 25% Pro Pattern, 30% pro pattern & 40% Pro Pattern and in all cases they are listing it as 15% nitro & 20% lube oil. Does Pro Pattern have 20% nitro and why list 25%, 30% & 40% if it is all the same stuff.

Does anyone have accurate info. I searched their web site and could find no e - mail address. I want to use a fuel with 20% nitro & 20% lube oil.

The info is listed here under 4 - stroke fuels.

Don,

Did you get an answer to this question? I have the same interest in this fuel. Please share what you may have found out.

Thanks....................

I'm using Cool Power 4-stroke MV and the labelling on the bottle does not state the nitro%. The website says it's 15%. ALL fuel bottles should indicate the content clearly!

cloudniner -> RE: Cool Power Fuel Question ??? (7/9/2007 7:10:52 PM)

A few years back I used Cool Power 15% nitro and what I thought was pure synthetic oil (the green stuff) in my 4-stroke engines.

After 10 or so flights I noticed the muffler on my Saito was really black??? I did not understand this as I have been using total synthetic for many years and my engines remained looking like new.

I went to my local hobby shop and explained that this was really bothering me. He called Morgan and found out that the fuel actually contained synthetic and castor. I went ballistic as I was lead to believe the green stuff was totally synthetic! If the damn fuel contains castor it should be on the damn label.

I immediately switched to Wildcat YS 20/20 and have been happy ever since.

I will never use Cool Power anything ever again!!!!

Just thought I would throw in my two cents.

Sport_Pilot -> RE: Cool Power Fuel Question ??? (7/9/2007 9:17:10 PM)

I have used synthetic oil fuel that will turn black on a four stroke muffler, but is totally clean on a two stroke. The higher temp I think. The fuel was Wildcat to boot.

cloudniner -> RE: Cool Power Fuel Question ??? (7/10/2007 1:40:08 AM)

Hey Sport_Pilot

I have two YS .53s and a YS 110 that must have eight or nine gallons of Wildcat 20/20 through them. They all look like they are new.

Wildcat does sell fuel that has a mix of synth and castor in fact I have some (15% nitro 18% oil mix) but the YS 20/20 is pure synthetic to the best of my knowledge.

I guess the bottom line is use what you feel comfortable with after of course reading the labels....providing the labels are telling the whole story!

Sport_Pilot -> RE: Cool Power Fuel Question ??? (7/10/2007 2:19:05 PM)

Hey Cloud Niner,

I had a TT .91 and OS .91 and both engines had black props and only burned the Wildcat four stroke fuel with the special extra thick synthetic oil that is supposed to be better for four strokes. The same fuel did not do this to a two stroke muffler.

I did not say all synthetic oil does this, please read carefully.
