Hi all,
I am currently testing one of these chargers.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/newproduct.cfm?product_id=1644

At first glance it is similar to the Bantam BC5 but appears to have more functions.
The unit is supplied with a very poor manual and various functions are not even listed. I’m currently sifting through all the settings and first tests are looking encouraging.

If you own one of these chargers and wish to post any problems/comments or questions then please use this thread.
I will of coarse do the same.

I believe RC Power is a Bantum unit.
That model should be the equiv. to a Bantum.
Do you have a URL for a supplier?

Similar but not the same.
This unit has Discharge & Cycle modes on all types of batteries.
Also Delta Peak settings and Trickle charge settings as well as the 10 memories. Also a cooling fan.
The manual is very badly written and almost identical to the Bantum one so I'm still discovering more settings.

As for suppliers I got mine in the UK but it is also listed on the Hi model site. Anyone selling Tower Pro equipment should probably be able to order you one. Chinese made of coarse and sells for around £70 in the UK.

No real problems with this charger other than a very poor manual. Download the Bantum 6 charger manual as this charger has most of it's features. (They must use the same Processor) The 601BC has plently of good features and it seems to balance LiPo's within 0.01 of a volt.
Please note this charger will not Delta Peak correctly on a TX with inline diode.

I have noted that from March 14th 2007 there has been a revision to this charger. Not sure what this is. Does anyone know???

I have burned the function for balance the battery in my rc-power 601bc.

I opened it and I can see two componentes burned, I went to an electronic store to see if they can change, and they said yeah, but I have to know the specification of those components.

They are an IC, close to those balancers plug. I can't see the specification because it is burned. The charger still working but without balancer, Can someone open your charger and look those components for me please? It happened after I try to balance a battery wich the balance conector differente. If someone want help me I can take a picture of those IC wich is burned and send to help you. Thx a lot.

Anyone know the pinouts for the JST-XH balancing sockets on the 601BC?
I want to knock up a lead to allow me to connect Thunderpower packs.
Seems like a good charger so far its just a shame the manual is so bad.

I can't really see differences... But the detailed photos are there for jvictorfc...

What do you guys do with the USB interface? I can't seem to be able to do anything...
I have installed the program but it doesn't "see" the charger..

Run the driver installation software first
Then plug in the USB connection
The PC detects the device and then takes you through the driver setup
It should tell you that the device is installed and working correctly
Install the monitor software
Run the monitor software
The software only starts working/logging when you start a charge/discharge cycle on the charger
