What exactly are you trying to glass, a wing? Have no experience glassing straight onto a wing foam core. I imagine it can be done, but not very durable because it is foam underneath. That may be a good thing, I dont know. However, I make my own cowls out of foam plugs using the lost mold method. Cheap, pretty fast, and durable. It wont give a mirror contest quality finish but its plenty good enough for sport or general scale projects. Let me know it you want a copy of my how-to article I wrote for the club news letter.

Oh! So you'll probably be glassing over wood. Not too difficult. In a nutshell, after you lay the glass down you squeegy on the epoxy till its nice and flat then use a roll of toilet paper to soak up any puddles that are left. Then go back over it with the squeegy lightly again to get a uniform finish. Thats just the short answere. I have a web site pointer at home that I think is pretty much all about glassing thats pretty good. I can send it to you later tonight when I get home. Interested?

FYI - You can also use water base polyurethan instead of epoxy or finish resin. I'l be doing that on my P-38 when its finishing time.

Nope, the Byron Christen Eagle is all foam, but I think I'll try what you said anyway. Thanks.
