In almost 4 years of being a member of this RCU, I've seen many disagrements & arguement over some of the sillyest things. BUT WHEN A FELLOW MODELER IS DOWN, ITS WONDERFUL TO SEE EVERYONE PUT ASIDE DIFFERENCE'S & LEND HELP. From kind words, thoughts & prayers, monitary donations, & the hobby lelated items. I'm sure Bill wasnt giving of all his time & effort to this site so that he could get it back in this way, but this hobby is like no other when its people come together & help fill the needs of a friend in need. I'm proud to be a part of this site & a friend to those I have met here. I hope Bills life returns to something resembling "normal" as soon as possible.

No wonder I haven't been able to get him on the phone. Man, I really hope all is well. I can't believe I just now noticed this post. *sigh*

I just talked to Bill about two minutes ago, his house burned down recently and he lost nearly all his possessions. Bill himslf is OK but pretty subdued as would be expected. I can't even imagine how devestating that would be. I'll keep in touch with him.

Sorry, I accidently posted this in Gas Engines first.

Is there anything I can do to help Bill besides a monetary donation? I lost a good job last year and am about to put my wife through law school so I really don't have any cash to spare, but I do have time, some tools and a strong back if that will help in any way. I also have a little R/C and computer stuff I could probably donate. Also, I am only about a day away from him by car.

Come on guys. The donations are slowing down to a dribble. Dig down deep into your pockets and help out a fellow modeler in need. I'm retired and on a fixed income but I did my part. You know that Bill would do the same for a fellow modeler if the tables were turned. Look at all the help and advice Bill has given and not asked for a thing in return. How about it???

I'm sorry to hear about the fire. It sucks. Happened to me in 1991. Unfortunately I was stupid and didn't have fire insurance at the time as I was building a new house and trying to save a few bucks. The most expensive mistake of my life.

I hope he had insurance. If he did it will pay for everything that was lost if he insured the contents which most people do. If he didn't that is the gamble and risk he took. Good luck to you Bill, Maybe you'll get to buy the OS 3.20's you wanted.

I called Bill the day before yesterday and said we need a Twins with Saitos Club. I'm putting two Saito .62a's on a Hangar 9 Dual Ace.
