Hey all, just curious. Can someone fill me in on their experience with the aluminum upgrade for their Walkera? Is it worth the money? Thanks!

Which Walkera are you refering to?
22e ... I've been an advocate of the CNC head for quite some time...

My experience with setup for 22E:
Bought the Sonix CNC V2 head. Spent about 10-15 hours installing it (ran into every problem possible). Finally got it set up, thanks to NY_Rebel's help.

And I couldnt be happier!!!!

Well worth the work if you ask me, great product, just a little hard to set up if you dont know what you are doing.

I have a 60, I messed up the tail and broke some of the plastic parts...the tail rotor met the ground. So if I buy the metal upgrade kit and the tail hits the ground (not crash really, just hit the ground while attempting to land) something else will break and not the metal parts? I just couldn't tell from pictures as to how sturdy or cheap the aluminum is. Any more comments would be great! thanks guys!

I tOO WOULD like to get a head upgrade, but i dont like having to spend $138 and 10 hours modifying it so that it will fit.

First...he's talking about DF60 parts, you're referring to 22e CNC head...
Second....the 22e CNC head doesn't cost $138 (the "Microheli" head does from some vendors...the "Sonix" does not)
Third...if you follow the install guide I did on the 22e Sonix head, you can complete it in about 2.5 to 3 hours if you use stock servos (less if you're using aftermarket servos)

Yeah I took a little bit longer on the 22E head because a lot of it was figuring out what to do and how to do it.
Now that there is a great thread to follow it can be done in under 5 hours for sure.

On my 60 I run the stock plastic head and the CNC tail. I've upgraded both but found the CNC head hard to keep dialed in. The mixer levers that mount on the blade grips keep slipping and throwing off my blade tracking in flight. I get the screw as tight as I can and use thread loc, but it still does it. Never any problems with the tail.
