Yes, that is neat. but I want to finish this thing before the next century!
My camera took a ---- and I just got a new one, so I will now have to learn how to use that!
The canopy is on and I am working on the scale prop. If anyone is interested I am taking it to the Hemet Qualifier this weekend. No not to fly.

i guess that means no 110 in it

and just think, with a 110 and the drop down radiator panel, you could really impress all those warbird guys down there - lol

Boy rare bear, are you tryin to get Corey to blow a head gasket? Hey Scale, I have that 110 for the F6F sittin on the test stand if you need one for the contest. It might even turn that 4 blader you made! Sorry man, I couldn't resist. I wish I was home, every time I see the P-51 I get all inspired and stuff to build, but I guess I'll have to look at all the loose women here in Sin City till I get back.

Scale Dail, I always like that you deal with somewhat smaller practical models! I have tried to work with the TF P-51 (.60 size), and find it to be a pretty good outline. Check out Zope Popes 1/7th mustang thread (extroardinarily long thread). Congrats for being pictured in MA! - Eric

Thanks Riddle! I still like models that are model size. The trend toward larger and larger models makes me sick! I will continue to be the only one that builds smaller models to a higher level !!! That is my thing.

Progress! A Hamilton-Standard cuffed 4-blader fits the bill!

Oh I know about how you guys kid rare bear. I also know you''re NOT one of the guys trying to justify buying a new plane every week @ the basin flying like a maniac to see how tight the formation can be, or how low to the ground. You seem to enjoy the power without the constant carnage!

I kinda try to find a middle ground where I like to fly scale, but I also like a little extra under the hood to satisfy that need for speed. Plus, once you take a common ARF and scale it out, it ends up quite a but heavier than stock, and those extra ponies come in handy.

I got to see scale dail's P-51 out at the Hemet qualifier this last weekend and it really looks sweet! He's done a beautiful job on it so far. Can't wait to see it all dolled up!

Next time I start a build thread I will have it done and then doll out the pics!
Here is the latest, putting on Flitemetal is HARD! I have ruined so many pieces. It is very hard to keep from messing it up! And what stays on has to be good or it won't be worth it. I'll finish a section or two and then I have to walk away, ARG!!!
The tail is covered, and moving forward now-

Thanks! I have had that pilot for many years in my stuff box. And I am sorry I don't remember where it came from. I did change him around a little though. He looked a little to happy originally. Flying a P-51 is serious bussiness!

Cool. Right now I am also kitbashing a kyosho mustang, but it was the voodoo air race version. I redid the canopy area and put in a cockpit similar to yours (but not as nice!). I was just hoping to find a pilot so it doesn't look dumb.

Dail, which class are you planning on entering this in at the event in August (Assuming that is what you are preparing for)?

I just want to ensure I am not in the same class.
