Anyone interested in heading out this saturday around 1pm?? Weather permitting of course. The weather is supposed to improve for the weekend.

We could do Softball City... and I could bring my ramp!!

Lemme know if anyone is interested.

Well... we went bashing today. I broke the front pinion... pulled out the front diff and kept going... then blew up the rear end somewhere... didn't bother taking it apart to check.

Gotta spend some time making fixy so I can play again soon!

Finally got my 3spd yesterday and installed it while watching the Canucks game. (Sweet game, 4th OT period win). I'm taking it to work today to give it a try.

Does anyone know if you're supposed to lube the trans gears during install? I put it together dry and it sounds a little rough. Maybe thats just how it sounds now with all the metal gears in there. Oh well, I'll give it a shot and see how it goes.

Once I've got er all tuned up again, I will be ready for some bashing. Just in time for some... RAIN?????!!!!???!?! WHAT THE F#@k!??

Trans goes together all dry unless it calls for a bearing or shaft to be greased.

Cool. I put it together dry and I cleaned and lubed the bearings. It stopped raining so I took it for a burn. Something aint right. It seems like it won't shift out of first gear. I thought the engine could be out of tune cause I cleaned the air filter and used a new air filter oil. So I tweeked the carb a few times, and got some better acceleration happening, but it still wouldn't shift. It shoots off the line and almost wheelies but it doesn't shift. It revs up nice and quick but then when first gear tops out, it seems like the engine just isn't havin it and almost wants to die. But even if it's runnin like crap it should still shift, right?
Hope someone can help. Maybe its just somethin simple like adjusting the shift point, but doesn't that come preset from the factory? I will try to fix it more tomorrow at work. I hope it doesn't rain, its supposed to rain like crazy. Oh well, at least it'll be friday.

I left the shift points as they were on my 3 speed. If the motor isn't running well, it likely won't come out of 1st if the revs aren't up. It needs revs to pop out the centrifugal arm to engage the next gear... so if the revs are low due to poor running, you may be stuck in 1st gear.

maybe i'm just way out of tune. I'll try resetting to factory needle settings and go from there.
