Status: offline 		I have always bought traxxas top fuel, and I really don't mind spending 20 for a gallon of fuel, but I am moving to Bulgaria(country in Europe). No one sells rc fuel there so I need to make my own. Can anyone tell me what I need and tips I also want to how much it costs to make a gallon. When I go to bulgaria I am not going to have the same income so I might need to get it cheaper.

You need:
nitromethane - I've heard it is very expensive, and hard to get, in many parts of the world
methanol
oil - it needs to be compatible with alcohol

Recommended nitro and oil percentages should be specified by the engine manufacturer.

Status: offline 		I have a dozen traxxas engines. I want to know how much to mix. I think I can find nitromethane but how much of each do I use?

Status: offline 		Do any of the traxxas owners manuals give oil or nitro percentage recommendations?

I have planes. My engines are OS and Magnum. Both manufacturers list recommendations in the manual. I think car fuel has less oil than plane fuel.
My plane fuel is
Oil 18%
Nitro 15%
Methanol 67%

Once you know the percentages to use, get some beakers from a laboratory supply and make a liter at a time.
Using my percentages
Oil - 180 ml
Nitro - 150 ml
Methanol - 670 ml

Status: offline 		NO I they say use traxxas top fuel because we made the engine and we know what it needs. I have also used other rc car fuels that are around 20% nitro. I want to make a fuel mixture that will run ok, I dont want to race them that much. If you guys can tell me what you use on your cars and trucks I will try it.

Status: offline 		Wildcat fuels posts their content. "Eliminator" is the car fuel.

It says it has 14% oil
Nitro is 16%, 20% or 30%

If you're not racing, and just want to have fun, you could duplicate their 16% nitro formula.

i am not trying to be a smart a&% . but i thought it was methylalcohol and not methenanol. our club buys magnum 10% by the 55 gallon drum. it says right on it. METHYLALCOHOL AND NITROMETHANE

are you guys burning somthing different?.........................just curious

Status: offline 		Methyl alcohol and methanol are the same thing. We all refer to it as methanol so I suspect Magnum were just trying to sound all technical .
