No problem! The 9303 is a great system no question of that! Thanks for the feedback!

I've heard that is the case on the 12 and 14. We will continue to develop products to match the systems available in the future.

No, the module is decoding the info from the TX and only decodes 8 channels. Futaba systems do not do that, they don't have more than 8 channels in PPM mode at this time.

Danny, thanks for the answer. Let me ask it this way...

The JR module appears to be 9 channels. Does it accept 9 channels of PPM information? And does the AR9000 decode and accept it?

Thanks,

Dan Thompson

Yes, if the system is 9 channel or above. If using a lower channel system you will be limited by the system itself. But this is for the JR system. The Futaba system will not operate more than 8 channels.

Just placed my backorder at Horizon. I asked them and they say they only charge you the shipping charge right now, and when your order ships they charge you for the item.

My birthday is in July. I was going to ask for a synth module for my 9C. Guess that just changed. ;-)

Danny,

What are JR and Futaba's position on these modules? Will we void warranty buy using one of your modules? Please tell me you have spoken to them about this.

My 9C is no longer in warranty so it is not a concern for me, but I am asking a more general question.

Since it requires no modifications to the system it should have no effect on warranty. Granted of course that they would then have no control over the RF so therefore the Spektrum warranty would be in place for that.

Also, the announcement state JR and Futaba, but on the first page of this thread is a price list that says Futaba-Hitec. What does that mean? What Hitec transmitters will you be supporting?

At this time Hitec is not supported, however may be in the future.

Silly question.

I remember a few years back, the Hitec Synthesized module would work in a Futaba radio, but there were numerous posts about that voiding any possible insurance since different manufactures made each piece.

Is there any issue with using a Spektrum Module with say a Futaba Transmitter that could possibly effect insurance coverage through your homeowners policy or AMA?

Even though the parts are from different manufacturers, Iwouldn't think it would cause insurance issues as long as the parts are manufactured to the correct specs. My guess it was a case of internet laywers hittin the keyboard.

I just ordered the JR module for my 9303. I must say that this announcement by Spektrum really seems to put JR and Futaba in an awkward position. If this technology really catches on with the modelling public (which seems to be the case), then JR and Futaba had better respond with new SS products soon. Unless they can get around Spektrum's patents on this technology, I would bet their business models will be in serious trouble.

Prediction: in two years nobody will be selling new radios for our existing 72MHz channels...
