I would like to know if they are planning a DX9 or better. If not, it will at least free me up to get a JR+module. I'd rather not. If they already have the rx, how much more work could it take to put out a transmitter?

The polk is not a modular system, it will only work with a transmitter which has a replaceable module. I have never seen this many people on one thread at a time!

Keep it. I'm going to 6 meters. Then I get to display my callsign, KC0MDA.

So whats better buying the radio with the modules or buying a radio seperate from the modules. I reall just don't understand the technology .

If you look at the spectrum radios they are a JR based radio. Same programming too. JR and Spectrum I'm sure will be together at some point. Futaba needs to step up..

Im goin to wait for you guys to work the bugs out of it. Im stayin on my 72 for now.. Everybody is goin to be on Spread Spectrum anyways...

Thats all Im goin to say about that!!

You wont have to worry about failsafe programming, it will never need it!.. I guess you could drop the transmitter and break something

Maybe Futaba will come with its own module system with a better price. I have expressed the module idea in another RCU DX7 thread. No, I do not have any contact in SpeKtrum.

Innovation, what a brilliant concept.

Danny, another question. If it's been answered I'm sorry. Just looked through here and didn't find an answer.

Does the MZ module have to be connected to the trainer port to get it's ppm signal? I've been lead to believe that there are no ppm signals available in the module socket.

Later;

D.W.

Danny,
Why does the module for the mz look so different? Does it fit into the back of the radio like the original? One more, does it come with an antenna to fit the 14mz?

Thanks,
John

WOW, this thread is hot, really great news for the hobby, but on another note, I'll wait until the prices drop before I make a switch, I just got my 9CAP-S for $260 NIB last year from a reputable dealer, with a warranty as well, I'll let the new "Gota have the latest and greatest now" hype wear off before I make the investment.

My 2 pennies

Joe

Hi all,
I dunno about all this........... Call me the only Killjoy on the thread but as exciting as all this is, couldn't they make something a little less "goober looking?" I understand this TX module has to have this special short antenna.......... So where does it connect to? I see the bayonet looking attach point out of the back of the module itself. This wire goes to the "Spectrum-Special-Plastic-Break-If-You-Look-At-It-Wrong" antenna that connects where? I've seen so many of these park
