If you have Windows XP Professional as your OS, you can use "Windows Movie Maker." You will also possibly need a program to convert from the format your camera uses to the format for "Movie Maker," and there are free programs out there. One of the best is MP4Cam2AVI. You will find it at http://sourceforge.net/projects/mp4cam2avi/.

If you have trouble, let me know and if you have dsl or cable, I'll send it to you.

Ulead MediaStudio Pro 8.0

Does everything you'll ever want to do and a bit more.
Might be a bit hard "on the learning curve" but in my humble opinion the most advanced video editing available commercially, and I can say I tried almost all.
Above this, your next option is proffessional studio software, expect to pay the price af a good mid-size car.....

If you want to start with some basic editing, Windows Movie Maker is your best option.

Sony Vegas 7.0 and Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. But If you have Windows XP then you should have Windows Movie maker. My gf made a dvd movie out of this program.. which eventually got me to get Sony Vegas and Adobe Premiere.

I use Adobe Premiere 2
I have been using Adobe Premiere 6.5 /1.5 for the past 4 years and it is really great. What I like about it is that there is so many plug inns you can download for this program. I must admit it is a bit pricy but I am sure there are cracked versions out there
