I've found that quite a few times when I have "tbe" that the outer shaft is the problem. It's not that the shaft is bent but that the main gear either has some worn teeth or that the gear is warped. I have a box of pieces from a really bad crash and have decided to put them all together again with some new parts to increase the fleet. My problem is with the outer shaft. The box of pieces doesn't have one. No Problemo right? just buy one. AHHH but ono momento amigo. inside the main gear on the outer shaft is a small bearing. It doesn't come with the outher shaft assembly when you buy it. In fact, although it shows in the cx and cx2 manual parts explosion picture, there is no number for it. In the parts explosion picture, 034 is the outer shaft main gear. 035 is the inner shaft main gear. In between the two parts you can see the bearing, but no number. I can't be the first person to have this problem. where does one get that bearing?

That bearing is the bearing that holds the inner shaft, there is 2 of those, I cant get the part number since I dont have the manuel on hand.

That bearing comes in a set of two. They are the E-Flite EFLH1121 2x6x3mm bearings. One is in the gear for the outer shaft, as you point out, and the other sits in the bearing cup, which is attached to the outer shaft, just below the upper rotor head. The inner shaft resides within these bearings. There is another set of bigger bearings, which the outer shaft goes through. They are in the frame, and are the 4x8x3mm EFLH1215 bearings.

When you change the outer shaft, you'll need to move that little bearing that sits in the outer shaft main gear. It doesn't come with the new gear. It's pressed in there pretty tight, but it is definitely removable. Switch it to the new gear... you don't need to buy a new one. If you insert your inner shaft into the outer shaft from the top (upper bearing cup removed) and go at an angle against the inside of the outer shaft, you can "bang out" that little bearing from the top, using the end of the inner shaft. Hope that makes sense.

Of course, if you're building a whole new heli out of spare parts, you'll have to order/buy the two sets of bearings mentioned above. Just look on the horizonhobby.com website for them. Or your local hobby store. They'll set you back $13 for both sets.

Thanks for the info. I usually buy my parts from Helihobby and they don't carry those bearings but I found them on Horizon Hobby.
