This question may sound silly, but as I said before, this is my first gas engine. Do you remove or release the carburetor spring? The manual says you should not remove it and to merely release the ends of the spring.

Just release the ends of the spring if it binds at all you may clip the ends of the spring but do not take it out as it will hold the pin so the engine does not ingest the butterfly.

The reason to release the ends is that the spring may keep the butterfly to closed to idle, the servo takes care of the butterfly and does not need or want a spring pulling the butterfly closed.

Well, i just got back from the field and got run my Funtana X100 with my crrc 26cc for about the 6th or 7th time and all I can say is WOW! It seems like everytime I run it, it gets a little better, seems to be getting smoother and more power with each run, I love my motor. I was a bit weary about buying an engine like this and not spending $300-$400 on it, but for aound $200 delivered, I made the right choice, thanks to PRCMODEL.com for all of the wonderful customer service and a fine engine. The ONLY "thing" (I dont want to say problem) is I can't yet start it by flipping, I still have to use my starter, but I am hoping as everything loosens up it will start with a flip.

Thanks Rich. My engine has only about 2 hours of running but I like what I've seen so far. I guess the rest of the break-in can be done mounted on a plane. I think I'm going to keep using the 25:1 mix until I use up the whole gallon. Last time I ran the engine it only took a few flips to start it.

After releasing the ends of the spring I found the throttle arm to be ineffective and replaced it with a standard servo arm. It seems to be tight enough but I'm still concerned it might eventually vibrate loose. What do you guys think?

Have 5 flights on my Funtana 100 with this engine with an APC 17 x 6 prop taching 9170rpm WOT. Using 50:1 Saber 100 with high octane gas. 4 hours bench run-in at 2500 to 3000 rpm.

Flys the plane out of a hover with authority, outstanding vertical.

Really liking this engine.

In fact ordered another engine and two of the 16x8 faux carbon props Saturday night. Should ship today. I'll put it in my 25% Extra from Cermark.

Hey Guys,

Got my GR26 in two weeks ago, Trikeflyer mentioned no instructions in his - I got instructions, but in the manual (if you can call it that) where it says use battery 4.8 - 6.0 volts - Someone actually scratched out 6.0 volts with a pen and hand wrote in "4.8 volt only". WOW! These guys should reallly hire a genuine interpreter to translate these "so called instructions" into ENGLISH - do you speak it &^$%***&&*&^%^$#$?

my 2 cents worth

Max

Have you run your 26 yet. This is one of the best and most reliable 26 on the market, and look at the price Just over 200.00.

Ditto that. And at this price, who cares about the manual?

Has anyone put one of these in a Wild Hare Baby Edge 540? If so what do you think? I am thinking of getting one of these and a WH Baby Edge.
Thanks Alan

I am wondering what this engine weighs? How are the exhaust parts holding up? Sounds like a nice 26cc engine! Capt,n

Hey Capt.n
The engine weighs just under 2.5lbs (about the weight of a saito 150) I have over 35 flights on mine in a 13 lb texan and it just keeps getting better. This engine has to be the best value for the dollar. It seems I am not the onlyone that feels that way. The distributor for the engine is
