Hi Virginian, The US distributor is Jim at www.westernhobbies.com. Myself and 3 other lucky guys received these engines on a "Test Pilot" program.. CRRCPro Group, the manufacturer, has supplied them to us to test and give an unbiased review. We do not know what they will sell for yet.

Keep checking in to this thread as we break them in and then fly them on our planes.

Craig, I checked the crank case alignment l pins over real close and no sign of cracking on my engine.

Hey TrikeFlyer;
Looks like a very nice li'l motor you got yourself there. Do you mind me asking how much you paid for it and where did you buy it? Who is gonna be
the official distributor here in the States?

this engine isnt on the market yet. there are 3 of us that i know of that have an engine each for testing and review. this is a new engine made by CRRC Pro. its 26 cc in capacity and will fit where a 120 size engine fits.

the official supplier in the states is Western Hobbies. the guy to talk to there is jim. he's a great guy and knows his stuff.

This engine will be released to the worldwide public very soon i believe.

cheers

something i've just discovered with this engine. i put the spark plug in the hole and tightened it up. as i turned the engine over by hand i noticed a noise. it appears to be a leaking front shaft seal in the crankcase housing. this also happened in my big 45 cc engine. i replaced the seal and cured the problem.
lol.....and no i havent replaced the seal in this new 26 cc engine....only my 45 cc engine.
just wanting the rest of you to know about the problem as well as the factory.

cheers

Hi Pe,
still on the threat,do you have your hands on these engines across the boarder and what was your answer to running in flying or on the ground, some engines eat up their ignitions when ground testet.I prefer flying them rich at medium power settings for a day or two.
Cheers

Thanks, Trikeflyer
I checked out their website and saw a GF26i for $364.00. Looks darn close to my my Brillelli 26SS. Same muffler, same carb with vel stack, same case, but 60 buck more expensive. Could their price be wrong? They sell the GF45i for $299.00.

Thats right Virginian, the sport GF45I is $299.00 because it has a standard side dump muffler and the fixed timingg idle RPM as well as smoothness.

The hot looking GF26I you see for $364.00 has a CNC machined crank case, Pitts style muffler and auto-advance ignition.

The GF26I version Craig down under, BossHoss and I are testing is a new prottype not for sale on the market yet.

Hope this helps sort these engine out for you.

TrikeFlyer: Does the 3 test engines have CNC machined crankcases? I wish they would have sent one engine to Michigan for more promotion in Northern USA! Best Regards Capt,n

Hey capt'n the 3 test engines have a cast crank case with same low volume shape as the CNC one on the other engine. Looks like an almost exact copy only cast.

Also the head has straight up plug, not angled like the GF26 with the CNC crankcase.

hey there to mike and jon....

i see in one piccy you have the ignition and battery setup. i have spoken to the factory and they advise me that the cdi unit needs a 6 volt battery to run.

i have my engine mounted but are now having a few dramas with the setup. will let you all know my findings as they come to hand.

cheers

Craig, the ignition puts out a nice spark with 4.8 volts. No one has told me the ignition requires 6 volts to operate. The factory told me this is a prototype engine so they did not send any instructions with it. The instructions are in proof reading now.. Also the final version will be shipped in a colored box like the GF45I and not the plain white box ours came in.

Let me know how your engine runs.

yeah trike i didnt egt any instructions either lol. and yes i have been using 4.8 volts as well.....what a great spark too!!!...pity its gotta go through a resistor plug.

i have got my engine on my test stand but having problems getting it to start. i did some checks on the carb as it wasnt getting fuel onto the plug. i found the pump lever height was too low so i adjusted that and now have fuel getting to the engine.

trike do you think your engine is low on compression??..i think mine is. it just doesnt seem to be as bouncy as my 45. also i was using an electric starter to turn this engine over and now the crank has gone tight.

more to come......

cheers

So far, I think this thread has shown that CRRCPro in China are still a long way from having effective quality control systems in place.

You'd think that if you were making a point of shipping test engines to folks you'd make sure that they were properly checked before despatch and free from cracks, faulty carbs, etc.

It's been my experience that, while the design of the CRRCPro (and other Chinese gas engines) is basically sound and many of the components are well made, virtually no effort is put into checking that they're assembled properly and to a minimal standard before shipping.

If you have a local distributor (like CRRCPro USA) then that's fine -- if you're buying from someone on eBay or direct from China over the Net in the hope of getting a bargain, well you're playing roulette :-)

As soon as some Chinese manufacturers catch on to the fact that for a minimal investment in *real* quality control (to Western standards), they'll own the model gas-engine market overnight.
