The spark plug that comes with the CRRC Pro 26cc is a Torch CMR7H.

Tom,

Here's another question for you...
What are the thread sizes on the outer prop shaft for the prop nut, and the smaller inner threads for the spinner screw?

Thanks, and Happy New Year!

Ben

2robinhood,

It's been a couple of months since I ran my engine, but I seem to remember getting a good 40-45 minutes of run time with a fresh charged Futaba 4.8 600mAh pack. Just one of the square reciever packs.

Good luck....

Ben

Hi Ben - the "inner" thread on the engine is 4mm. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the outer is an 11mm.

OK, I just did the swap on my Seagull Laser 200.
I weighted everything to do the swap and here is what the verdict is:

Taking out.
OS Max 1.60FX ( 2 stroke ) with Bisson pitts muffler, Seagull stock aluminum motor mount, engine to mount bolts, mount to firewall bolts, prop and spinner.
Total is 3lb. 3.2 oz.

Puting in.
CRRC Pro GF26I with CRRC pro pitts muffler, custom made 2 3/4" stand offs, stand off mounting bolts, ignition, ignition battery and switch, prop and spinner.
Total is 3 lb. 4.9 oz.

I am going to use the same tank, so no differance there.
So, an all out even exchange of motors ready to fly gained me 1.7 oz. and about 550 - 600 more rpm with a much better prop.
OS with a 18 X 6 Master airscrew wood 7250 rpm.
CRRC with a Xoar 18 X 6 wood 7800 rpm.
When I get it up in the air, I'll let you guys know.

Make sure you change your tank over to gas, you will need a new gas stopper and Tygon gas lines.

My son is thinking about getting this engine for his ultra stick lite 120. He was going to get a g26ei but this engine being 100.00$ less in price it is hard to pass up. So what I would like to know is are you guys more or less happy with the CRRC PRO GF26I.

We have sold a lot of these engines and customers really like them. We have had a couple of minor repairs but nothing major, seems like a real good engine.

ramduster,

It's a little soon to tell without having a good season of flying with this engine. I've run my GF26i on a test stand for a bit less than two hours. So far so good, starts fine and runs smooth... I did get it mounted to the firewall in my Mustang last week...

Thanks Tom,

I do have the Pitts muffler and was intending on using it on this plane. I still might, but the way this crazy Asian ARF is set up for engine mounting I 'll have to do some major re-design on the firewall area. If the standard muffler will fit inside of the cowling I may just go with it. It's gonna be close...

Valley View RC is the factory authorized service center for CRRC Pro. All new CRRC Pro 26cc engines are being shipped with a 4.8V sticker on the ignition and noted in the manual. For additional information contact www.valleyviewrc.com

Tom

Here was my problem ( post 145 )
Well I was using the 6V till I read this.
I started using a 4.8V. I have been bench running it, and when my 4.8V reaches 4.9V on a meter the engine quits.
I haven't been able to get good running time from a 4.8V 1000mah pack ( test pack ).
I contacted the guy I bought the motor off of ( http://www.prcmodel.com/index.php ) and he said that he hasn't heard anything from CRRC about a voltage change.

OK, I bought some two brand new 4.8V 1650mah NiMH pack Fully charged @ 5.53V ( no load ) 5.48V ( with load ).
Motor starts and runs, but idle is bad. Idles for a minute / minute and a half and shuts down. While it is idleing every so offen it will miss.
The only way to keep it running is to raise idle rpm's.
Best idle to stay running is 2050 rpm. I tried both 4.8V packs with the same result.
I put my 6V 1650mah NiMH pack back on.
Fully charged @ 6.72V ( no load ) 6.67V ( with load ) and the motor runs perfect. No miss, idles reliable down to 1825 rpm and will idle for 30 minutes perfectly.
I didn't take any wide open rpm numbers with each battery to know if there is a differance in top rpm.
But there is definately is on idle rpm's. It also starts much easier with the 6V pack.
Anyone with any ideas????
