Considering getting the new spektrum reciever. My question is how to arrange the two recievers perpendicular to each other in such a tight fuse?

Don't know Earl. You'll probably be the first but I would follow the radio manual as for recommendations. I think all they want you to do is simply orient the antennas in different "planes". For example orient the main rx with the antennae running up and down and maybe the second ant board with its antennae running side to side.

I'd put the main part of the receiver in the center of the fuse, like the manual shows, leaving the antennas pointing front to back. Then use a little patch of velcro to hold the secondary part, down a little into the wing panel. Rotate that part 90 degrees, to make the antennas run span wise.

Otherwise, put the main part inside the wind, with antennas pointing span wise, and cut a little hole in the left wing sheeting, near the fusealge. Run the receiver connector through the hole, and velcro the secondary receiver on the left side of the plane, with antennas running front to back. This is how I have mine on my profiles.

Tail twister that is exactly how I mounted mine on my fusion. I flew my fusion 90 seven times today still absolutely in love with it. I used double sided tape on the secondary reciever instead of velcro.

EARL

I looked at the new Futaba Spectrum and that is the way to go. Only one small receiver, no problem with installation. Good for any plane.

I have the Horizon DX6 system in my parkflyers and like it, but the two receivers in the DX7 and the attendant installation problems turned me off.

Regards,

Yes. Mussers, my local hobby store, has one. Mr. Musser told me that that Futaba is also coming out with a 2.4 Ghz module for the Futaba 9ZAP Wc2 transmitters of which I have two so I will wait for that.

I was surprised that Tower doesn't list them in their catalog yet, but assumed that Tower is waiting for a large delivery. They are predicting availability by Mid
April, $219.00 for just a transmitter and receiver. Use your own servos or buy a complete system with servos. Do a search on the Tower site for [FASST] and read about it.

Regards,

I've held the system in my hand. My LHS has one. Have you NOT seen it in person then?

I know it offers the range, and a single box receiver, but it's not all that nice of a transmitter. It looks like the controller that comes with RealFlight.

And the antennas are a little different than they appear. They are two wires about 5 inches long. Only the last 1 inch is actual antenna. The rest is not to recieve RF. You still want the spacing, just no secondary box to deal with.

Surely it can't be that hard to hollow out the fus or cut a hatch in a balsa fus to house the two recievers right? Or am I missing the big picture here? One can then also use short stubs of nylon antenna tube exiting the fus in the right planes for the antennas? Ok maybe I should shut up till I get my first spektrum reciever one day.

My satellite receiver is mounted with velcro to the side of the canopy area. Simple as that...

I also think that Spektrum already offers such modules.

You could easily put a hatch just about anywhere in profiles. Cut your opening, frame around it to replace any structural member you may have cut through, glue in some recessed hold down blocks, cut your hatch from 1/16 ply and screw it in place. Easy.
