The Real Dogman -> RE: Genesis/Nemesis GST Clutchbell Tool?? (3/16/2007 2:12:27 AM)

Soilwork and Nomobux, Thank you for the kind words fellas!!! It was fun! pretty fast on the mail since those did not actually get picked up until Tues, The mail man missed my office Monday(Confession Time).

Now I just hope the others, Dustin's and Monaroman's Tools make it thru customs quickly(I did label it as a gift) You fellas should see your soon!! Prolly Dustin first then Mr. Monaro.

Nomobux, I'm glad you had enough Bux For this tool, you wont be sorry...

Again, Thank you and Enjoy!!

BTW Google "Clutchbell Tool" Kinda cool! My brother in Michigan showed me that one!!

MONAROMAN -> RE: Genesis/Nemesis GST Clutchbell Tool?? (3/16/2007 12:05:50 PM)

Awaiting anxiously TRD, customs shouldn't be a big drama... unless the sniffer dogs take interest, apparently dogs can smell fear - the fear of my GST now that I have no worries about thrashing pinions...
Which reminds me
Cen, where's the hardened pinions?!?!

NIdaho Mudder -> RE: Genesis/Nemesis GST Clutchbell Tool?? (3/16/2007 4:38:53 PM)

Drop me a email when you have more for sale adamb@icce.com Im sure i need one also :)

Hey The Real Dogman,

Hey Nitro, gotta picture of the tool you had made? Just curious to see what you came up with...

The photo shows a tool I made to hold the 21t & 17T pinion Gears whilst removing them from the clutch bell, works well in a vice. Allowing the reuse of your 21T gear especially when it's not worn like your 17t usually is! (2 hole nylon block, with slots).
The other 2 piece nylon block is what I use to hold my flywheel with (using multigrips) whilst undoing the crankshaft clutchbell retaining bolt. No flywheel scratches!
Finally the clutchbell tool, is a sliding fit on the inside of the bell & the drive fingers protrude a simmilar distance to yours! The flat end works fine with a 1" open end spanner or Adj. shifter, (or a vice). Basically a copy of the one posted on the CEN site last year!
I usually put the drive gear in the nylon block in a vice, & undo the bell using a spanner.

Works well for me!

Sweet nitro, I like the idea of using a high impact plastic to clamp onto the pinions to remove them.

Glad it all works well for you, thats what counts really!!!

Thanx for posting the pics And most of all have fun!!

The Real Dogman -> RE: Genesis/Nemesis GST Clutchbell Tool?? (3/18/2007 5:35:48 PM)

Hey blitz, your tool went out in mail yesterday. you should see it by Wednesday!!

You'll love it the first time you have to break loose the pinion.

I have three more ready for shipment if anyone else is interested!!!!!
