I have been using the Hitec Heavy Duty Switch Harness Jack on all my gassers. I'd like a nice one that has an external charge jack but yet at a fair price. What is everyone using on there gassers and where do you get them? Pics would be nice to see how they look on the plane.

I've been using the JR chargeswitch. I'm sure they are not the best, but they've been working fine for me so far. I'm curious to see what others are using as well.

There are identical to the JR charge available from Cermark, Electro Dynamics, MPI (probably) etc. However, they cost around $16.00 so they are not much cheaper. Personally -- these are the only switches that I will use -- regardless of the cost...

These are super... priced right, simple to build and use! Don't be put off by the sailplane reference, as they work well on all flying toys.

Fly safe, Glover

Thanks for all the input guys. Nice variety of switchs. What is "compatible with radios with DSC functions" mean. What is DSC?

DSC is function that you can plug your radio directly into the charge switch and activate the servo's. I know JR radio's support do not know about Futuba or Hitec.
Pretty cool function to test your airplane. You use a cord that plugs into the trainer jack and then into the charge jack.
There is another thread on the Giant fourm about switches and Gas engines, as far as which one to use or not to use do to the vibrations caused by gassers.
The say the MPI switches tend to fail due to the vibrations ( I personally love MPI switches on Glow aircraft) and had to switch. Ended up buying my switches from
Hangtime Hobbies as that is were I bought my batteries for my new airplane.

There are several MPI flavor switches they sell. The one with the LED "volt indicator" is prone to create interference. They have one that is a small-contact switch, fails pretty frequently with vibrations, then they have the one that dick hanson put me onto years ago... it is the heavy duty "charge switch", three wire, heavy wire, works for DSC (for all you non 2.4Ghz guys who need DSC still), and lasts a LONG time.

I use only the MPI HD w/DSC, and have used probably a dozen or more within the past couple years, not a glitch or hiccup.
The OTHER MPI's (like their regulators) are pretty borderline-reliability and quality products that have created problems for me, so I learned from that ---- the school of "What Not To Use".... "Learned by Crash".....

OH, forgot --- the Hangtimes stuff is ALSO top-notch, first-grade quality. Highly recommend theirs if you choose non-MPI or non-JR HD.
