If the US's real goal was "war for oil", why oh WHY aren't we now seizing the oil fields, diverting that oil to US-bound tankers, and beginning to enjoy sub-$1 a gallon gasoline? Maybe some of the naysayers out there ought to look at the statistics for how much (little) of our oil the US actually GETS from Iraq. It's well under 10%, based on the last figures I saw. Smart men, given this intent, would've attacked a much closer-by country that we get much more of our oil from (like Venezuela for example) with a less trumped-up military, with fewer geopolitical implications of an invasion, to invade and take their oil. Not Iraq. Just as there is a burden of proof for the WOMDs' discovery by coalition troops post-occupation, likewise lies a burden of proof for the "War For Oil" accusation, for all the finger-pointers. These are the same folks who predicted "thousands of casualties" of coalition troops by Iraq, and "another Viet Nam" if we went in. Just how far off-topic can a thread get? Rick Help, help, the sky is falling!
