I have one of the pre production test trucks( See my gallery). I believe that i was like the first or second person in the World to get one. I hear what everybody is saying about the release dates being pushed back constantly but has anyone really thought about how much integrity goes into making the decision to say NO , The product isnt ready yet! Actually more companies need to do this before throwing rc cars and trucks on the market but instead most of the companies just wana make the quick dollar with their RTR's and not really give a crap about the quality of the product, they seem to say ,well its not right but were Tamiya inc, or Team Losi , or were team associated. Then we all end up buying a ton of aftermarket parts to get the vehicle to function properly. And lets not forget, none of these Billion dollar companies has tried to or even come close to producing a true to scale Desert racing truck, no one.So Darren is making these companies look really stupid when it comes to a true to scale racing truck. So please gentlemen lets all take a deep breath and be paitent he"s only a 2 or 3 man company. I live here in Florida so there is a ton of sand dunes here to race my rc trucks so I have had a blast with my pro 2 race truck. I will share a lil known fact to everyone on this forum about the Thundertec pro 2 race truck that will make all of you think twice about complaining about the release date push backs. I installed the mamba maxx in my truck, but I still drove the truck to scale and at scale speeds. I have over 15 hrs of test time on my truck so I know what Im talking about. During my testing I noticed that when I got on loose dirt or a sandy area the truck would lose alot of traction so much so that I had to call darren about locking the diff up.So I locked up the diff and traction was a bit better but it still seemed to lose traction often. Now at this time there was not an intention on redesigning the whole truck I was just going to get the parts needed for the upgrade IF there was to be an upgrade.I would always call Darren every few hours of drive time to let him know how testing was going. So I called him one day on the testing and he told me that the truck was going to be totally overhauled due to some major issiues. And as you all read or can read in the update traction was an issue when the truck is on loose surfaces and that is the exzact problem I experienced with my prototype. Now he didnt have to do all of the research that he did to rectify the problem he could have just let it go by and let everyone play around with the suspension settings untill their hearts content thinking that they have solved whatever issue they would have had.All of you would have had your truck like 8 or 9 months ago and been just as happy as a kid in a candy store.See most of you if not all of you didnt know anthing about this lil problem that us prototype testers were having. So I hope that this will put to rest all of this inpatatince many of you have with Darren Grillo!! Hes doing this so that You Will have the finest true to scale Pro 2 Desert Truck ever produced! I called him recently to tell him that I truley appriciated his integrity and his honesty in pushing back the release dates of this awsome truck. If more companies had this kind of integrity we wouldnt be spending 100's on aftermarket parts.
