Hey Bob J.
I haven't found out what the paint issues were. I'm living with it. The Red sprayed and "looks" ok but it's a little rough to the touch. The white is still drying with small bumps all over. I've thinned it and increased the pressure which only made the bumps smaller and more concentrated. The white areas that I've decided to live with are on the fuselage. They are relatively small. I'm gonna have a friend come over and see if he can help me out.

I don't believe it's an issue with the paint. I haven't ruled it out but I really believe it's something I'm doing. Chuck at Warbird Colors has been very very good and very helpful. I just don't understand it. I don't have any experience with low VOC paints or waterbased stuff like this. I've always sprayed automotive enamel.

Well, anyway, here is a picture. I couldn't resist pulling back a little of the paper to see how the red was going to look with the white. The colors are "great"!

Sorry to hear that you’re still having problems. Getting a friend to help is always a good idea. Two brains are better than one. Or in my case, none. But going by the pictures, it’s looking good.

Keep us posted.

Ok, I got a few more pictures for you guys. I got all the blue areas taped off and ready to go. I was planning to spray blue today but I was just feeling a bit lazy. Painting is not advisable when you don't feel like painting!!!!!!

You can see below, I taped off for the blue and drew the crosses in place. I'll spray the blue then the black and I'll be finished. The pilot however is getting a bit anxious to get into the air. As you can see he has weapons ready to mount!!!!

Hey oneaew, did Bill get you fixed up there??

I've got the white sprayed complete and everything taped off for blue. My wife has come down with viral meningitis and I have not been able to finish. Hopefully soon, I'll really have some pics to put up.

Yeah, and Ugly Stick club! Who we gonna nominate for president?
Thanks for the thinking of my wife. She is taking my son to school this morning. Although against my better judgement. She got pretty mad when I told her she looked aweful. I guess you can't even say that to a woman when she is sick??

I can't waite to fly my stick. I never flew the Ugly Stick. The drawings were my dads. He still has his DUS hanging in the garage along with a few others. I had a Midwest sweet stick with a flat wing and it too was the absolute best flying airplane I ever owned. I buillt my Ugly like bob with a flat wing. Thinking that it and the sweet stick were nearly the same. It would have to fly just as good with the flat wing.

Well, we'll see how the wife does today. Maybe I'll get the blue sprayed this week yet. Her and I were planning to go on a ski trip Saturday. WE had an all day baby sitter lined up and everything. We havent' been out without kids in 5 years! I was looking pretty forward to it.

Youe supposed to say " Dear are you sure your OK, You look like your a little tired"..........Never tell a woman she looks aweful or bad that's marital suicide.................

Sean for President..............got my vote.

Ah no no, presidente here! I can barely manage my house!!!!!!!!!

I'm still hopefull to get some blue layed on. I'm really unsure how big to make that white border on the black cross on the rudder. I think the cross is 4-3/4" wide. I have 1/4 tape and 1/8 tape. The 1/4 looks too bold and the 1/8 seems like it might be too fine. 3/16 seems like it would be better but it would obviously be easier to tape off if it were 1/4 or 1/8!
