My wife just informed me of our weekend schedule. If I find the time to do any painting it will be a total miracle!

Sean, you're looking a little sick ...

Maybe the wife has to go it alone for a bit over the weekend.

I feel your pain! I hate when real life interferes with a build.

Good deal Allen. Congrats on the promotion. I've spent some time in Hemet. My Aunt and Uncle live there now. I love Hemet. I stayed there for about a month or so about 17 years ago. It was much smaller then!

To post pictures you have to actuall click on the reply button on the right side of an individual post. If you look to the upper right corner of this post you'll see 3 buttons, Reply Quote and FWD. Click on Reply then type your message as you normally would. Then at the bottom you'll see a box for upload image. Simply click on it and it will bring up another box and will allow you to browse your hard drive for photos. Add them all before choosing the upload box. Then you'll be done!

I didn't get my black sprayed. I got everything taped off and ready to go. It won't be long now! I had some more pics but I've left the camera at home. I'll try and post them later.

Nice looking F16 there Allen. Let me know if I can be any help to you at all!

I got tied up in re-building my home PC last weekend so the painting took a back seat. Our PC went kapoot and it was tax time. I had to rebuild from scratch.

Anyway, here are some more pictures where I left it. As you can see on the tail there was a little bleeding of the white. It should be no problem to fix up. I actually bled through the masking take I never considered it bleeding back that far. The last time I used some clear dope around all the tape even back as far as the masking areas behind the actual tape lines. It left some beautiful lines. That will have to become Standard Operating Procedure from now on. I should be able to get the black done this weekend no problem. The next pictures will actually show something!!!!!!

Almost flying season!!!!!!!!

Thanks Crashalot. The thing I like the most about painting is pulling off the tape. It's really satisfying to see it turn out. I must say that photoshop is really cool. In the old days all I had was my imagination. Many planes didn't look nearly as good finished as they started out in my mind! This one looks just like my photoshopping. Thats cool!

I'm staring to second guess using these CA hinges. Anything else anybody recommends? I never did feel real good about them. I don't think it's too late to change to something else. Or am I just being too worriesome.

I used robart hinge points on mine 3 years ago. Haven't used anything else since. Just my 2 cents.

Redwulf,

Your Stick looks awsome man! It really does. I have a couple of questions for you. Did you build the wing flat with no Dehydral ? And I was curious what is your finished weight?

Thank you
Frank

Hey Hans,
I've got slots cut in. Could I still put the hinge points in with the slots cut for the CA hinges? I like the looks of those but never used them.

Frank, I did build the wing flat. I'll let you know on the finished weight. Once I get the radio in and the engine mounted. I just finished the painting. I expect she is gonna be heavy. I had trouble with my paint and I have way too much on. Although I might be surprised. Warbird Colors is high pigment. It doesnt take much to cover thus she winds up light. But the white areas I sprayed about 10 times!!!! That gets heavy no matter what. I'm optimistic on the weight.

Stay tuned. I hope to finish up here really soon. Thanks for the compliments. It means a lot I worked hard!
