Status: offline 		Does anyone know anything about or has anyone had any experience with the thundertiger 120 rear pumped motor.

I know it's no OS 140, but I have one on hand and am looking at slowly getting back into pattern after some 3 years absence.

My last plane used an OS 108 on a pipe with a cline pump. It seemed to hold its own with the 120 4strokes.

If anyone also knows where I can get a header for it that would be much appreciated.

Status: offline 		I would also love to hear anything about this particular engine including setup, prop, fuel, rpm etc.

I don't have experience with the engine yet.
I just bought a used one to rebuild and replace my YS91AC.


So far here is what I know.

The original owner of the engine (I am the 3rd) told me that the engine is very good. Macs site has a tuning tip on TT120 rear exhaust and pipe setup.

He also told me that the engine is slightly less powered than OS 140RX. I am going to use a 4-stroke carbon muffler with this engine since it is sure enough for my application probably with this setup.

For the header,
In US, Macs is the only place that sells the header pipe, but there is Karl Mueller in Canada who can build a custom header.

He is a very nice guy, so if I need another header of different height, I am going to custom order one from Karl.

Status: offline 		I tried a TT120re for a while. The engine was very strong when it ran, but a tuning nightmare from one flying session to the next. Be sure to clean the fuel pump per TT instuctions after every flying session or you'll have trouble. The bearings that came in my engine were not good either, as I had to replace them right away. Mine was set up with the MAC system which came with the engine. I ran a 16x12 APC with 15% powermaster.

Can you recall what rpm you got with the 16x12 APC on the TT120re?
