They are only 19 7/8 inches long. Can only have one main sail.
Open class design, just about anything goes. Experiment away.
Anyone have any interest?

I have one in progress. Frames are cut and ready for the building board.

I will make more posts here regarding the M505 class and my build as it progresses.

Hull is now planked and sanded. It sits next to my Puddle Pirate Footy

505 framed next to bigger sister

APRIL 23rd UPDATE:
Bottom has been glassed with 3/4 oz. cloth and Z-poxy finishing resin. After sanding four coats the hull bottom was ready.
It has now been cut away from the building board and is waiting for coating of the insides. Then deck work will proceed.

Just pulled the first M505 hull from the mold, test hull. Weighs in at 5 oz.
When I lay-up hull number 2, it should weigh 4 oz.

Lay-up of hull number 2 produced a hull weighing 3 3/4 oz.
One more lay-up (hull #3) should weigh around 4 1/4 oz.

Will work on hull #3 when some more fiberglass fabric comes in, stay tuned

I took hull #2 and added balsa deck frames, added mast tube, and keel. Still have to cut out the deck hatch and install servo rails, etc. It's taking shape

Hull has now been sealed with thin Ca glue. Next step is to put the servo rails in and rudder tube support block.

Managed to get the hull painted this week, it warmed up twice to painting temperatures in the begining of the week. Sprayed on the white primer.
Let it sit for 48 hours before painting on the gloss white base coat. And then today,a windless day and temps made it to 72 degrees. Rushed outside after masking off the hull and sprayed the bright red/orange.

I used some Pactra model enamel that I had on hand.
