Status: offline 		I'm building a Craft-Air Windrifter, and would like to convert this sailplane to electric flight so that I can avoid using a hi-start to launch it. The wingspan is 100 inches, and the finished weight of the plane without the motor or battery should be approximately 34 ounces. The wing area is 916 square inches. I plan to use an AXI 2814/20 brushless motor with a Jeti 30A advance plus speed control and 1800 mAh 20C Li battery pack. I also intend to use an 11x5 folding prop. This should add a total of about 11 or 12 ounces so the overall flying weight will end up being about 46 ounces. The motor is rated for a 67 ounce sailplane, so I believe that this will do a nice job of getting the plane to altitude quickly, but will not add an unreasonable amount of weight so it should be able to thermal well. Does anyone have a suggestion about alternative motor sizes or brands for this type of application. For the system that I speced out, how many minutes of flight time could I expect to get if I ran the motor at full speed continuously?
