I couldn't resist buying this heli. For ~125.00 including shipping the ARF has all metal head/swashplate assembly along with ball links and a belt driven tail. It arrived about two weeks after ordering packaged in an alll styrofoam box. It was well packaged with no damage. I replaced the included brushed motor with an Ultrafly Model C/13/33 Out-Runner Brushless Motor. I used a heading lock gyro also from RVM (~40.00), 9gm Tower Pro servos, Berg 7ch receiver, Storm ESC,2000mah 3S2P Truerc Li-Po and Hitec Eclipse transmitter.

Everything was pretty much straight forward. To my surprise the manual was fairly good. The manual shows it is a Black Hawk 400V2.

The servos were too tight with the cable to feed into the servo trays but a little work with the Dremel took care of that problem on the center servo and the tail servo. I just ground a little off the edge to let the wire pass. The left and right frame was simplier as it is held together with screws and after removing two of them and loosening the other two the servos slid right in.

I installed an 9 tooth pinion (Heli-Max) on the motor. Due to the tight fit of the motor ( the motor shaft and pinion fits between the rear belt) I had to install a spacer between the motor and mount.I just trimmed the ears off the aluminum mount that came with the motor and mounted it to the motor with two screws and used the other two screws to mount the motor to the frame. Also I had to slot the mounting holes in the frame for the motor so that the pinion would mesh properly.

I chose the Berg receiver as I have never had a glitch with any of them and I have several. Even with another transmitter on the same channel side by side I still have total control ( Blows my mind).

The $40.00 AVCS gyro is made by Colco hobbies. I really wasn't sure what to expect but thus far it does better than my Futaba 240.

The canopy will have to have two holes drilled to fit the mount due to the battery I'm using. I could force it but it will crack the canopy after a while. The recommended battery is a 3C Li-Po 1800 - 2200 mah. Possible an 1800 would fit fine but a 2000-2200 is a fraction too long for the canopy in stock configuration.

Total AUW is 23oz about 3 oz more than advertised.

I had only a few minutes today to hover it, but it was very stable and has plenty of power. The wind started kicking and I had to bring it back in. I'm not a 3D pilot but I believe this one will do very well. I have a Black Hawk 3D Pro ( Same as Century 3D pro) and it has more power and better handling than my Pro does.

I wanted to try the cheap way this time by using HK parts as much as possible. I'm not dissappointed as the quality seems to get better every time I order. I did not find any mistakes ,loose screws or anything wrong with this one. Kind of errie!

I wanted to post some pictures but for some reason I can't get them on this post.

I have a Helipro Technology HP-03 Black Hawk I got from an RVMSHOP ebay listing a couple of years ago and love it (now upgraded with a titanium main shaft, metal everything from the swashplate up, Microheli complete metal tail and CF night blades)....the V2 must be really nice.... I found out that the V1 is the same as the HobbyLobby Revo CP (with the exception of the metal ball links and no z-bends) and their parts and shipping charges are very inexpensive. The only thing that bugs me (other than the tiny 2mm tail shaft) is that the ad I bought mine from claimed that the main frame is carbon fiber but the Revo CP claimes to have a fiberglass frame which is what I think mine really is but I can say it's the only thing that hasn't been replaced and/or upgraded and believe me if it were plastic it would be trash now atleast 2 times over ...What is the main frame of the Suprex claimed to be? And like my "HP-03" Blackhawk does the manual claim it's made by "Helipro Technology" from Taiwan? I have yet to find a web site from them.... also can you post some more pictures showing the belt drive?

Hi ! My manual doesn't mention Helipro at all. It is a color manual with better english than most.

The main frame in the ad is confusing as it states it is carbon fiber and in another spec on the same page states fiberglass. Mine is made of fiberglass. Personally I like the fiberglass better as it will flex and not crack as bad as CF. The frame is braced well so flexing should not be a problem.

I'm posting the pictures of the belt drive. It is very close quarters around the motor pinion.

@vlutch: you can order real carbon parts for the suprex at rvmshop.com

Besides, i'm new here, i wanted your help

Also bought the suprex 450 RTF a few weeks ago. Electronics are crap, i replaced the transmitter/receiver/servos and Gyro with a Futaba T6EX 2.4Ghz, Gy401.

I'm confused about setting up the normal throttle curve. In the suprex manual there is a small graphic, so i set the throttle curve in the T6EX transmitter according the graphic. Throttle Point 1 = 15, Point 2 = 35, Point 3 = 40, Point 4= 45, 5 = 100. Are these settings correct?

Thanks, Philipp

Hi Philipp,

I bought mine from Besthobbiesite on ebay. Also Helidirect.com has some. You need to know the correct size. I use the 288mm blades and the 62mm for the tail. I crashed mine in a tree and had to replace several parts but the CF blades didn't even get scratched.

I run my throttle curve at ~ 1-25 2-65 3-80 4-90 5-100.

This depends upon your motor, gearing, pitch setup and battery.

Hope this helps and have fun!
Tony
