I have 3 tamiya bodies that I've had for around 5 years now... I just caught the bug again and brought them out.

I have a Honda Civic w/ the FF01 Chassis, TB01 Lancer Evo VI and a TL01 Castrol Mugen NSX...

Other than buying new wheels and tires, I pretty much left them stock... until... today.. =)

I decided to upgrade my TB01 chassis w/ a rooster ESC, Sanyo 2400mAh batteries and a Team Orion 10turn Triple motor (machine).. It was kinda late when I finished soldering in the capacitors to the motor and putting everything in the car so I just tried it out for a bit in our VERY DARK street... My turn ratio is so big now that i can't get it to turn in the street at full speed.. Is there any way to get it to turn more?? Maybe its the tires i'm running?? I'm running the off road knobby tires that came with the car, i'm going to try some street tired tommorow...

I also wanna do more upgrades to the car.. what else is there to do?? I'm running a 16 pinion gear.. should i change this?? Also, when i go with a higher count gear, does this give it more top end or low end?? thanks!! I'll be posting alot here..

I brought these back out cause I have a whole lot of ****arg's and thought of getting the kyosho mini-z's.. and thought to myself.. why not just bring out the good ones.. =)

Did you get a rooster or super rooster esc? The rooster is only designed for a 15 turn or higher motor where as the super rooster has no motor limit.

To get more steering, you need to adjust your suspension to reduce the amount of push in your car.

BTW, most cars with a 10 turn will have a large turning radius at full speed. If you got it to turn shorter, it will most likely roll.

I got the rooster.. I have another thread asking about the unmatched esc and motor.. =\ I'm going to see what the shop will do for me in terms of exchange or return. It would suck if they bail on me cause it was them who handed me the box and motor and said that the rooster was a no limit esc even though now i realized they probably thought it was the super rooster.

When running a hot motor in a TB, you will need the alloy motor-mount. Or else the thing will get ...hot. The plastic mount will melt.
Steering woes... start with the alloy steering kit, then get the turnbuckle kit. Oh, and not to mention the alloy hub-carriers. It changes the caster-angle from 10 (plastic hub-carriers) to 8 degrees, giving a quicker turn-in response. Ditch the brass bushings in the alloy hub-carrier kit before even mounting it on the car. Use 850 ballbearings instead.

Enjoy.

I got the full ball bearings too... I never thought of the mount melting, good idea.. i looked at the mount but the shop told me that it doesn't need it.. but what do they know!! L0L.. but yeah..

Right now my TB01 has:
TRF Suspension
Orbital 2 10t triple motor
AE F1 Reverse Pro ESC
Full ball bearings.

probably next will be the mount.. then looking at the other parts. It's just hard to find tamiya parts at the local hobby shops around here though.

i went to day to buy more stuff and ended up with nothing for the TB01 and got a MRS kit.. the one with the carbon body.. pretty cool...
