Just about all of the engine designs currently available lean out some as they heat up. It's the explanation why so many notice that their engines don't idle down as well for landing as compared to the idle rpm at take off. Seems to require a cht above 80c for a consistent idle, with the most consistent idle rpm levels obtained with cht's above 90-100c.

Still need to run through the whole thread to get up to speed but I have been struggleing all year with my 115 and am finally happy. Never tried the first carb, sent it back and got the second 2 needle with shorter reed valve. It ran horrible.. When the carb mod came back, I had the mod done to it, got it back and placed a 3w snorkel on it with a filter. Ran good for one flight, then went bad again. Took the filter off, and fiddeled with the needles, and I now have 10 flights with it running ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC (I am afraid to check where I ended up because it is running so well). I have just gone to a PT Models 28x10 and it is turning 6400 RPM..

Hey Ralph,

Have you been able to get ahold of Keith lately ? I've been trying to get a 6 bolt hub for my 110 and I can't seem to get ahold of anyone there. The ans. machine is full. Tried a couple of emails too...

Haven't heard a word as of late either. I just sent another e-mail asking that very question, we will see if it is answered.

Brent; Check the tightness of your cylinder bolts if you have a year run time on it.

Also, Have you looked at your spark plugs? What colors do you see there.

Guys, Keith has fallen ill with something. He isn't answering emails or phone right now. Sucks but sorry. No one knows anything about when/if he's coming back. Everyone has been trying to get him.

Brentp76...glad to hear yours if running great.

Ralph/RTK will be getting a kit for the original wga9 to try out.
This is the larger 150 cc size carb.
I think/hope this wga9 and kit together solves his top end lean condition too.

I will also be sending a kit to Kris and see what he comes up with also.

Regards,
Patrick

Ralph and Kris email or pm me with your address.

Patrick-- I would be more than happy to try your kit out. You do know it is winter here in California and in my business this is the busy season unfortunately......It might be better to find someone further south for testing at the present time. It might be sometime before I could give it a proper evaluation.

I know who would be the perfect person for this Pat. See that guy named Altavillan about 3 posts above... He has a brand new 115 and I will give him one of my extra wga9 carbs and block. He lives above the fog and flies a lot more than I. He's one hell of a nice guy to boot.

Let me know what you think

Ralph

I might not recommend sending one to Keith Altavillan.
If you have a problem keeping a secret, you can tell me, that way you can blabber and I will sign the non-disclosure too

Here is a engine that Rob says has always run perfect.

What we all need to know is why some/few, very few, run so well and all the others don't.

We all would like to know what you have as far a carb and exhaust system on this unit.
it is a 115 engine right?

How
