Look at the huge amounts of posts and issues around the 115, it's every where.
1000's of posts.

1000's of hours and 1000's dollars in lost equipment and lots of people trying to fix this.

Tell them all how yours runs so well from factory.

Even the ones's who say are runing well do have some issues of some kind and have made changes.

What is wrong with the rest of us?

mine works that great too, but it took a lot of work, a huge amount of work and
the kit I designed manufactured and installed after the carb to get it there. ( knife edge or inverted loss of rpm)

Please advise all your carb# and exhaust system design for all the others to see.

They need to know how you have successfuly made this 115 work great.

Hey Patrick,
Your not alone....I wqas a witness to RC Robs Sukhoi w/a 115 BME and what he says is true! His RIPS!!! I have two brand new 115's just like robs w/ same carb , reed block and pipes..... ours is very touchy, Just maidened it last week and it was a bear to tune....I kept it a little rich and the transition was soft but flew ok....But inverted,knife edge and uplines sucked ....totally dropped off. I need to perform some surgery I think!

Hey shayne
Keep running the enging and put more time on it. Their a little tight at first. keep leaning the top down no need to run it rich as it dose not help the break in prosedure. lean the low until it hesitates on quick transition from idle to full throtle. Then richen it up a little till the hesitaion is gone. tune her for kill and feel the power. What prop are you running and what plane is it in.

That prop is a little big for break in. Try a 27x10 wood. Vess, BME, Biela or Bunny. It may get a little warm if you load it too much until you get about 3 or 4 gallons through it.

Both cases, the ring caught the edge of the exhaust port. .. Keith said he was going to modify the jugs to prevent this from happening in the future. Had anyone else seen this on their 115?

Anyone hear from Keith?

Yes, others have experienced this. No, there has been no word from the owner of BME. Read the last couple of posts in the Supertigre 90/BME gas conversion thread fro a little more enlightenment.

I received an engine back from Keith this week that I had sent to him on Oct 2nd for repair. He is way behind on things.

well..this is good news though. it sounds like i am hearing that Keith is getting some stuff done.

Jim.....how does the motor look? Does it look like he repaired it the way you needed? i heard a few other guys say they got their stuff back as well on the "other site". Hopefully somebody can figure out the reed cage / reed block / carb issues they are having and get this motor running right. I haven't heard from Altavillian about the motor i sent him. Wondering if he might of ran it yet.

The engine I just got back from BME is a 110. It had a damaged piston skirt. Keith replaced cylinder, piston, reeds, and gaskets.

Kris W has my 115 right now and he has a fix for it to make it run on stock mufflers. He will be returning it to me soon and I will test it as soon as weather permits. His fix worked well at his altitude on one of his 115's with stock mufflers. I hope it's going to work for me at 5,000 feet altitude. It should.
Kris W's fix is not the same as Patrick's fix, but that's all I have to say about it. If he wants to tell you what his fix is, I'll leave that up to him.
There is a thread on Kris W's fix over on the other site.

Hey Rob,
Yeah....I think the prop is a touch much for break in too but thats what keith wanted me to use on it. Get this......We have had alot of vibration and tuning issues that I've already talked about....we pulled the engine down and found that the crank was WAYYY out of true...I'm talking about 1/4". We took the crank to a neighbors house and trued it. (Thats what he does for work) Now its much smoother turning and hopefully will run alot better and smoother like yours. I'll keep you posted. I was SHOCKED!!!
