The recomended motor for this Bronco is a 400T. The onlly spec I can find on this motor is the Kv rating. What would be a comparable motor from AXI, HiMaxx or E-flite? What prop. should I use?

Which prop depends on your application but here's the breakdown:

Yup with electrics it's all about how much output you want and what your selected equipment will deal with.

To select a different motor you'll need to work with the variables to come out with similiar or greater thrust and work backward to obtain what ESC and prop to use.

Try using any of the online calculators to come up with a workable combination.

BTW: Nice selection of bigger motors now!

I'll be needing to electrify a few planes, as far as I can see.

How about some ESC's to go with the new motors?

I smoked the recommended t400 brushless motors. I have since replaced them with himax HC3516-1130 with 45 amp Phonix esc's flew it today it was awsome. Great performance no lack of power and idled back no problem using 10/6 master air screw e .
