Thanks for the reply.
I have been to Pauls site and checked out the stukas there. It confirms the problem I am having with mine. I got the slimline pitts muffler installed on mine and I can't seem to get the lower cowl to reattach to the upper cowl. The one header bolt and the muffler can end are forcing the cowl away from upper cowl by about a 1/4" or so. It is possible that the fiberglass cowl I got with the plane when I bought it is so old that the glass has deformed some how, which it has a little because the front corner of the lower cowl dowsn't fit flush with the upper one.
Or the mount for the engine wasn't set right on the engine box. The way things look now is that the engine would have to shift off the centerline of the fuse about a 1/2" to make the clearance.
I'll be studying the problem some more I was hoping to find out if there were other muffler options other than what I got now or the jtec unit.
