Hey Guys,
How'd the bashing go?? Sorry I couldn't make it. Seems when you're engaged, you don't make your own schedule anymore (anyone have an idea of how long that lasts......)

Anyway, I'm still trying to get some bashing done for the weekend.... Break in an engine, run the Turmoil or the Revo around....

Where are the boat ramps exactly?????

Caramel_Slim -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (3/26/2007 12:01:50 AM)

Well,
Today was an ok day of "bashing". I decided to take the Revo and the Savage X out. The Revo has already been broken in, the Savage X is Brand New!! Went out and found a nice open parking lot with absolutely no cars and very little in the way of obstacles so that I can get my break-in completed. No one around to hinder me... just absolute bliss. Well, set everything up for the start and the Savage doesn't start up.. no problem, I'll let the glow plug get nice and warm and try again.

Tragedy!!!

The rotostart strips out!!! What the "(filth flarn filth)" is this...... I just got out here.. well, so be it..

Round 2: Time for the Revo... Starts without a hitch and showed that parking lot who was boss. 3 tanks later, idling nicely and running about 205 F on the temp meter.. she's good (don't know, that might be a little high.. may need to reset my needles..)

Anyway, sorry I couldn't catch up with you guys.. but we've got warm weather and time....

rodgers191 -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (3/27/2007 5:07:52 AM)

hey np. were meeting up again this weekend. sat i believe so stop on down. bashing was sweet. i busted 2 cars but they will be up and running by this weekend. i totalled the xb8 (i missed a jump) bent chassis,busted bulkhead,broken bumper, busted fuel tank,stripped the steering servo. took her home and banged the chassis straight with a hammer, took some super glue and glued the bulkhead back,got a fuel tank from a hyper 7 and zip tied it, replaced the steering servo and was back in action the next day.<-------------fun. so anyway come on down and have some fun.

Caramel_Slim -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (4/6/2007 1:54:47 PM)

Ok, Guys....

Looks like I'mma be outta town this weekend. My update is that the Savage is back up and running with a new spur gear (that hopefully won't strip).. I didn't get to put that 3 speed tranny on her though, as a matter of fact she's still in a number of pieces waiting to get put back together.

Spent most of the week trying to clean my cars.. you know "dirt hurts"..

Anyway.. Have fun and the word of the month is "Failsafe"

rodgers191 -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (4/9/2007 12:10:54 AM)

lmarinukjr -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (4/9/2007 3:39:59 AM)

my fleet is almost 100% with the exception of the maxx. but it should be an easy fix. its on for next weekend.

Caramel_Slim -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (4/9/2007 10:47:25 PM)

I didn't miss anything?!! Great.

Well the Savage is still currently in pieces, but hope to get it back together before the weekend.. Just thought that I would give it a little cleaning (...I know it was brand new, but..... )... I got a new toy though that I just think EVERYONE in RC should have, an air compressor.. this thing ROCKS!!!
I'll have my cleaning done in no time with it.. Also using the Simple Green/Denatured alcohol concoction which works well also, but no real need for it at the moment as nothing is too caked on.

Glad to hear that "Air Revo" is back in action... would be interesting to hear just what broke. Let Traxxas know what it takes to really hammer a Revo (that afore mentioned park bench).

I will definitely work to be out there this weekend, even if it's for a limited time (don't hate me).

It was nice meeting you guys too, you're a great bunch.. We can make this work, me thinks....

glizzymac -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (4/9/2007 10:56:58 PM)

slim damage to the revo was
busted rear upper arm
busted rear lower arm(both sides)
busted rear skid plate
bent all to crap rear turnbuckle
busted rear bulkhead
who knew she was gonna fly 20 feet?? gotta find a new spot for the ramps.
i got a new toy to bring down also.
were gonna be there sat and sun. hope to see all u there and im gonna talk to lmaniukjr to see if we can use his flatbed tow truck as a ramp. <---------- crazy air[:D]
later guys and please keep all of us informed on weekend plans.

lmarinukjr -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (4/11/2007 12:44:00 AM)

flat bed is always an option but you guys have to be willing to buy me a lightbar before my boss sees the rc car shaped hole in it.

rodgers191 -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (4/13/2007 5:44:19 AM)

so who's commin on down on the sat 14th? i believe its gonna rain on sunday so im trying to get as much bashing done on sat.
also anyone got some more ramps or the pieces so we can make one? i have a need for big air. its like a drug. help me get a fix guys[:D]
hope to see all u there later
btw slim u get the carbon chassis for the revo yet?

Caramel_Slim -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (4/13/2007 9:48:17 PM)

Hey Rod,

I have the chassis, just waiting to find some time to pull down the Revo and install it. Didn't you mention that I should look for something to support "something"? Can't recall what you said, but I'm not looking to crack a chassis in the name of bashing... I'd preferably like to have a Revo for racing and bashing... Know anyone not satisfied with theirs?

Now, I've been trying to make some mod's to the Savage and I've tried getting my grubby little hands on the LST Shock conversion but can't find it anywhere ('cept online) and I just don't have the patience for that right now. Anywhere local have it that you know of??

About Saturday. I'm not sure if I'm going to be out. I've got a ton of work to do for a presentation I have to give on Monday. If I do come out, it will be rather brief and I'll probably only bring the Revo or the Turmoil. [&o]

lmarinukjr -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (4/14/2007 8:01:20 AM)

ill be making several brief visits due to my ass being on call all day. bringin out the kyosho due to it being more compact cant haul the fleet in the flat bed.

FlyinGN -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (4/15/2007 8:26:26 PM)

hi al. Just saw this thread. I live in the NE too and seen you guys down there when I was cruising down there in my full sized car.. (a GN) Ill bring the VTX nitro car some time down there but don't it get too crowded with cars and people? You guys gotta find a more open area ..

Frank

macadoe -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (4/16/2007 3:26:06 AM)

I am definately gonna try and make the next outting. I met one of you guys at my local field when I stripped my spur gear in about 2 minutes. I fixed the gear and bought a couple extra ones also. I couldnt bring myself to put in the steel set yet. I am very new to this and and am not ready to fix a tranny yet. Anyway the maxx is up and running and will try and hook up with you guys next time out.

lmarinukjr -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (4/17/2007 12:18:54 AM)

hey guys the more the merrier. if thats even a word.im glad to say this past weekend there was no run aways. although the savage did stripe a clutch bell and a still yet to be determined grind

Caramel_Slim -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (4/17/2007 3:56:46 AM)

Guess who's back!!

[image][/image]

I'm gonna hope that the pictures that I uploaded got on here.
What you see here is the cleaned up Savage with the new Spur gear.

There's only one problem.. My savage has a screw loose (ha!!, I kill me!!).... no, but seriously, it's only one screw and i can't find the
[CENSORED] thing..
