Thank God. I could never find anybody from philly on here. I just got into racing but the only indoor spot I know about is Mushroom bowl and thats an hour away. Ive been to hobby hut and its cool it s just to cold now but does anybody know of a close indoor track? less than an hour away from philly? Id rather race onroad but I still like to get in the dirt with my revo so either is good.

rodgers191 -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (2/4/2008 6:41:15 PM)

i dont know of any indoor tracks around here. im waiting for action hobbies to figure out what their doing with their track.

westphill24 -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (2/4/2008 8:33:15 PM)

I read somewhere on here that they had it built, I seen pictures of it on their website. What where you reffering to I may have read it on an old thread?

westphill24 -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (2/6/2008 12:34:05 AM)

Oh ok. DO they have an onroad course to? When does anyone start going to linden ave and does it have any jumps or is it just an open area?

rodgers191 -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (2/6/2008 5:01:43 AM)

no onroad course. linden ave is a huge park its mostly flat buy we bring ramps. we also bring our familys and have big cookouts.

Caramel_Slim -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (2/7/2008 3:29:56 AM)

Yah Rob,

Been in and outta town with school and all.. Here for awhile.. trying to upgrade my Revo's.. the 3.3 I bought from you is now big block.. just gotta paint the body for it and wait for nice weather to break in the .28 I put in it. The 2.5r is what I am calling my "Racing adVantage".... Hopping it up with all kinda vantage stuff.. right now it's got a Vantage CF chassis, I went with the traxxas wing mount, but will probably try to find the Vantage wing for it. I've got the vantage CVD's coming and I have planned to put in the drive shafts. Of course I'll need the CF pipe, just to see how that works...

What's goin on with you???? I haven't been out to Linden in awhile.. they finish the boat ramp.. that new asphalt would be perfect for some on-roading...

westphill24 -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (2/15/2008 2:31:19 PM)

Sounds like fun. I guess Ill check back when it gets warmer for when people are going out there.

westphill24 -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (2/15/2008 2:34:28 PM)

Hey Im on a budget and was wondering how that 2.5r was. I want to start racing at hobby hut and I cant really afford a $280 OS engine right now so I was thinking about getting a 2.5r or the 3.3. I hear conflicting things about the 3.3 but if the only problem with it is you have to tune it everytime you bring it out, I can deal with it starting off. Thanks for any replies.

Caramel_Slim -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (2/16/2008 11:22:59 PM)

The 3.3 is pretty reliable actually. Yeah, sometimes it can be a little touchy but that depends really on the engine you get. I've heard stories all over about how it's either dependable or not.. you get what you get. There are people also driving well with a 3.3 that has a good tune so don't discount it.
Right now, my Revo still has it's 2.5r in it and I'm not really trying to change it so I'm gonna make do.
If you plan on racing, then driving skills can make up for some of the shortcomings of an engine. A driver that makes very little mistakes can run circles around someone who can't drive and a high powered mill (aka engine).

(unless you're Rob who's cars are actually low flying airplanes without wings.......)

rodgers191 -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (2/17/2008 11:11:56 PM)

lol ya but i broke or dented up all of them[:D] the 3.3 is a good mill and u wont have to tune it much if u seal the back plate and carb.
slim i got a ton of stuff in for the revo so if u need anything let me know,u also westphilly.

Caramel_Slim -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (2/19/2008 2:01:10 AM)

westphill24 -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (4/29/2008 6:01:14 PM)

Anyone go to Linden for some bashing while it was nice?

Caramel_Slim -> RE: philadelphia pa rc'ers (4/29/2008 11:55:38 PM)

nah.. I stupidly made my plans based on NBC's weather report. Sad mistake that was. as I'm driving to New York, the weather is perfect (on Saturday). As I'm heading back Sunday... you guessed it... weather sucked!!
Would have been perfect though...
