Oh those are pics from maybe 2002 or something. I have sold most of those. The fox in the middle is the only one I still have, it is the same one that I posted in the fox thread the other day. I kept it and this blackfoot, which is taken apart now I need to put it back together... I should have kept the fox on the end for a beater/runner, and my extra blackfoots as well as the kyosho ultima I had. I got rid of the original blackfoots and frogs because as you know the original hex drives on them rendered them worthless for anything other than a silvercan motor. If I'd only known they would be reissued along with the updated drive system I'd have kept all my stuff just to drive and have fun with. I did keep a super blackfoot that I have beat on hard lol and it's held up great and I got a stadium blitzer recently for a runner. I like alot of your cars dante, that bearhawk, monster beetle and looking forward to seeing your supershot! Man I wish they would reissue the blackfoot or monster beetle. I agree with you wills deal that the fox would make a cool runner, the one that i got rid of was very incomplete it was missing alot of parts, they have really gone up in price recently as I saw one with green wheels that I didnt think was all that go for a 150 dollar buy it now the other day. Both of those there were bought back in 02 for right under 100 shipped lol inlcuding original manual and a couple controllers, etc. The fox def. would be a better runner than say a frog or hopper/hornet but it's a pain to get to anything on them sort of like the hotshot etc.

Nice another 80's Blackfoot. I love looking at these old cars and trucks, frog and others included.
The Blackfoot looks almost brand new still, did you maybe clean it with extra elbow grease.
Yeah back then those dogbones just couldnt take the power of even a decent stock brushed motor back then.
But after the Frog was re-released they updated those old dogbones.

no actually I bought the truck just like that didn't clean it at all lol but it is clean enough that I decided not to bash on it too hard and use other rougher looking ones for that. It's far from mint though you can see a bit of road rash on the front grill etc. Yeah the stock hexes were junk, I got a couple blackfoots in a lot that even had twister motors and oldschool modifieds, I hoped one of them would have a thorp drive, but none did, whoever was racing them stuck to the ole hexs lol...I bet they got about one race per set. One good thing about getting a reissue frog though is that I looked tonight in my shop and I did save several bags of misc parts from those old blackfoots so I could replace 1/2 the car if it broke haha.

Well I have my frog on the way I couldn't resist anymore One main reason being that I found that team crp is back in business, and plans to make tons of cool products for these cars again. They are already selling several, such as the shock towers that have already been posted for the front conversion. I found some cool oldschool metal shocks on ebay. Here is a pic of them I got the shock oring rebuild kit, diff springs kit with varying tension of springs, mounting hardware stainless steel kit from crp and also the same rear shock mounts Eric did, as well as some wider front axles. I have the crp front bumper at home already, and before the year is out, they told me they are going to tool up and remake the old chrome wheel covers as well as the adjustable motor mounts Woot! Here is the motor I plan to run, it is a old trinity buggywald 13 turn? I think, probably from the early 90's, not quite old enough, but it's hard to find 80's mod motors that are very good performers and they raced the frogs and blackfoots well into the early 90's as evidenced by several used cars I've gotten in that had trinity slot machine and such roar 91 motors etc.

Those shocks are definitely old school...

You bought 4? They going to go to the rear too? Or?

Well I don't know. If they will work good on the rear I will probably go on and do up the whole set. The guy has ton more, in gold colors etc and so more can be bought later if needed. If they won't work with the rear due to length issues or something then I can always use something better on the rear of my grasshopper LOL. I will see how good they feel when they come in, I might order more, they definately look cool!

Well if the stock rear ones feel better than these blue ones yes I will keep them. I mean these blue oldschool crp ones are oil filled as well. Are the stock frog shocks better than the hornets or the same or what? At any rate, the goal is to have some nice shocks all around for the frog and give whatever I don't use to the rear of the hopper lol. Does anyone know of any other cool hopups available for the frogs? I saw crp sells metal antenna rods sort of like my tamiya fox has, how exactly do those work?

Frog comes w/ metal antenna rods..

The Frog's oil shocks are of pretty modern design (see my build in this thread). I think it is better than the Hornet unit, but the spring feel a little bit too stiff..

Great looking Frog!

Someone needs to make the aluminum 3-piece wheel so it would stop breaking!!

I think they only make the outside cover..

Yeah some of the crp covers were solid discs but like on those there you can see the regular ole white stock wheels behind lol doesn't do anything for adding strength. I have seen some aluminum custom wheels but they are too high to be a option. I guess I will buy up a couple front wheels parts trees haha I know you don't bash yours hard eric, so if you are breaking them it tells me I need to stock up lol.

And no, I don't bash them hard...

I never remember this problem with the old originals? Maybe they have changed the formula etc. I know one thing I noticed too. you have to be extra careful when trimming the front wheels, to remove the extra part of the spru etc. They are so thin you will hack half the bead of the rim off the wheel LOL I did this on one of my grasshopper ones, it didn't affect how the tire sat, just didn't look too good, but it was on the back (inside) piece so I will still run it. I will be more careful when doing the froggy one...

LB, rad22rad from TC makes aluminum wheel covers (outer) as well as complete wheel sets.
They are pretty expensive, though! (even more with the weak USD )
