hey gang
heres an update.
i got a jammin 12 and jp-5 pipe from my LHS for 100$.
i put it in and 10 seconds on the starter wheel she fired right up
and idled right thru the first tank with temps in the 200 range without stalling.
after it ran out of fuel and i put the piston on BDC and let it cool.
refilled the tank and she fired right up. i let it idle thru about a 1/2 tank and then put it
on the ground and started running it around easy. after that tank ran out i let it cool and ran 2 more tanks
thur it. i`m still not giving it WOT yet and i didn`t touch the needles yet. this little truck handles great. i was jumping off the curb in front of my house.
after all the problems that first engine gave me. this little truck is putting a smile on my face.
with the fuel tank cap leak. i wire tied it shut and refill thur fuel tubing with my 12v pump.
any word on a new leak proof tank coming out. it kind of a pain refilling thru the fuel tubing.

hey sliverman.
sorry. theres no way i`m fishing that engine out.
sorry.

All you need to fix the tank is a few rubber bands and a zip tie. Its as easy as that, dont need no fuel pump or anything

that looks like a better and easier to fill fix.
but don`t nitro fuel eat the rubber bands.
sure would be nice to have a new leak proof tank.

I just bought one of ebay I am sure you seen my post but I am so excited I have wanted one for a while now. I have read through this tread I am on page 24 The one I got has a O.S 18 tz with a half gallon of fuel a JP-5 pipe, jr digital servo three sets of tires and wheels and two custom painted bodys, so I am super stoked. Has anyone had any luck with the O.S 18 tz in this truck. Can you put 2.2 wheels and tires on these?

Rebuilt mine after the kit chassis ended up looking like a banna after a run away into a curb.

Upgrades included the extended chassis, Traxass rear wheels at all 4 corners with proline LP crime fighters stretched to the maxx, and a full stainless screw upgrade. I picked up the screws at Marshalls Industrial Hardware in San Diego. They are very high grade and were under $15 to do the whole thing.

Still rocking the $50 SH 12, ported, with a Jammin .12 carb going on 4 gallons now. The JLR/Picco off road Red Dot still sits in the box it came in :weird:.

Here is how I did mine when I bought it early last year.

The motor plate and pinion gear are from RCMonster.com. The battery strap is ghetto, functional and from home depot

Hope that helps!

mxr, you will find the box you need 1/2 way down the page. it comes in silver and blue.http://www.nitrohouse.com/options_jammin_crt_05.htm

Jesse, the rims are from Traxxashttp://www.killerhobbies.com/items/wheels~tires/wheels/traxxas-2-2-truck-lite-wheels-2-tra1972-detail.htm. They only come in white but are dyable. The tires a rear, buggy, low profile, Pro-Line Crime Fighters.

Thank you for that answer but you might not have read my question all the way through , i know about the mini box but i was wondering if a 1/8 universal starter box would do the job same way as this one ,as i might not have only a CRT5 but might head on after to a 1/8 buggy/truggy and i don't want to get a box only for the 5 .
