Just got the JP-5 tuned pipe for my CRT5 , it looks cool and (i hope ) more durable .
After installing it on my 5 ,i had a look at the OE pipe from the RTR ; it's not even a tuned pipe ! it's a simple and plain pipe ,no chamber whatsoever ,i would recommend all to switch that thing to a real tuned pipe like the JP-5 , at least it is a real tuned pipe and should give more bottom and top end to the engine .

went to the track on monday with the 5 ,WOW it rocks , just got a 16 tooth bell and now it is really perfect ,takes the straight full speed without getting out of shape and still has plenty of low end to take off from any jumps .
I just broke the left upper arm turbuckle ,it was a real surprise as this is the first time that i ever break anything on it ,so i ordered the turnbuckles and hingepins set in titanium from lunsford to beef up this (maybe) weak point as my stepbrother who also has a crt5 bent the same turbuckle and almost broke it ,he also managed to snap in two one of the rear dogbone but that was all after 3 hours of running almost non stop .

I did not have good luck with the Lunsford hingepins. They bend badly when you break an arm and are not as strong as the stock steel. Also the upper arm lunsford turnbuckle snapped rather than bent like the cheap steel. I just use the steel ones now.

Managed yesterday to blow up the front end of my 5 ,broke the 2 Front arm holder (one upper plastic and rear lower aluminium ) ,front shock tower ,arm's insert's and my steering servo !
I was WOT in the straight when my car just was to close to the border and hit a pole after a taking off on a small blemish on the track ,i am quite surprised to not have broken more than that ,arms are still alive and no axels bent or turnbuckels broken .
Ordered the parts plus the carbon shock tower and it only goes to 54$ of parts and i will have the upper front arms as spares as they are comming with the insert kit .
Can't wait to getr thoses as i can not run it anymore until the post will deliver me next week.

Had a deal on the table to sell mine. I stripped it all down and started going through all the parts I have accumilated....I had to back out on the deal. I couldnt do it because I know I would be kicking my self in the @$$ later for selling it.

I orderd a Velinium kit for my Slash but have now decided that the Slash will be way over powerd with that motor. So my only option( ) is to now throw that motor in the CRT.5. I just couldnt bring myself to sell it. It allways performed at the track and necver let me down. My only gripe is the shocks but I'm going to experiment with different pistons and shock oil. But I fugure it will perform better now that it will have less weight. Going to use a Max Amps 8000mah 2s batt. I have a 16 tooth mod 1 pinion gear but will be ordering one each from 10-15 to see what suits it best.

Hey i just won a crt.5 pro kit with it extended chasis in a raffle at a local race and i can't decide if i want to buy a motor or change over to lipo but i guess my question is what class have you guys been racing your crt.5's in and if you do run lipo where can i buy a conversion kit for mine. i'm still a little peeved that i can't run one of my old os .12cvr's since i have a couple of them sitting around still in good condition but the headers won't work on the crt.5

Thanks for reading

I still drive my electric converted crt.5 a lot, but mostly at a nice indoor track. I think if they had made it tougher and with better shocks it would be still going strong, but for outdoor 1/8 guys the crt.5 is no where near as durable as a 1/8.

Ok so i think that i'm just going to either sell the kit or put a engine in it like a stocker and electronics and sell as a brand new rtr pro version i think that would be my best options since there really is no place for me to race this thing (no classes)
