Hey P51-B - I guess you are using the word "elected" in the loosest possible sense when referring to GWB's "election".

Which one is better? Which one has more potential?

I find it interesting that the Reno racers have tried the Alison V-1710 (P-38 and P-39), Bristol sleeve valved radials (Sea Fury), the big R-4360 (F2g Corsair variant), the R-2800 (Bearcat), and the Rolls Griffon installed in a P-51 airframe, and they keep coming back to the Merlin. With that 60 odd years of advanced technology and hot rodding experience the Merlin is it. No Alisons need apply. But in the racers the Merlin's TBO is down to about one hour. The price still has to be paid.

'Round the pylons,
. "Aint" no Alisons.

Bill.

Given the "insights" from our British compatriots. . .perhaps we should just stay home from now on. . wonder how long it will take the French and English to learn German NEXT time?? 3rd time is the charm, so they say.

They keep forgetting that they owe their freedom to a lot of dead Americans. . .

I'm not British but, I reckon the British would have been pleased if you had taken the Frenchies!

Nope, in the strictest "by-the-rule-book" sense. Nothing even close to loose.

Goodness this thread is getting away from why those multiplex users are so envangelical!

Yes, Rory, the Damnocrats tried, but either they weren't crooked enough, or got careless, and did not succeed in subverting the Florida electiion to the point of stealing the presidency for "Ol' Bloody" Gore.

And your America bashing is offensive.

Bill.

I don't recall bringing personnel loses into it, a lot of countries lost people in the war. We all fought for the right to not have to drive BMW's and use Multiplex radios (say's trying to get back on topic).

Quite right. We are supposed to be discussing the idiocy, excuse me, the "Evangelical" nature of people taken in by Mulriplex. Haw!

If the radio works, that's fine.
. You buy yours, I buy mine.

Bill.

If these statements are true, then you're surrounded by British people. Are you also known as "E.T.?"

Bill.

Bill - sorry if you are getting confused between my location and nationalty - I live here but I am not British - I am a South African who has lost his way !!

1) I am usually referred to as "that bl**dy foreinger" ! I am surrounded by the British in their country and I like them.

2) I am not bashing you Americans - I happen to like you and have had many pleasant visits to your country. My comments were tongue in cheek - hence the use of friendly icons!

So lets get back to that friendly subject of Aeroplanes!

Well, I'm in Richmond, VA but I'm not American, I'm British. During my work hours at least, I'm not surrounded by Americans but by Indians; So what's the point?

If we're all trying so hard to be patriotic here why are we (suposedly) discussing the virues of Japanese and German radios?

Yep, nothing could match the P-47 above 25,000 feet except maybe the Fw-190D. The Jug was the toughest fighter of the war for sure.

Attached is a photo of my favorite plane, Ziroli P-47 with 92 inch wing span. The lady is my caller and pit crew. She loves scale planes. Her name is Bonnie, so I had to build a P-47 with her name on it. The original "Bonnie"flew in the South Pacific. I have built at least a dozen Jugs over the last twenty years. The first was a Brian Taylor design in 1979. The British do know how to design a model airplane,Reeves,Taylor,Bryant etc.

BTW, I had a cousin that volunteered to fly in the Battle of Britain. He was with the American Eagle Squadron #71.

Thank you Rory, Sorry I misinterpreted your posts. I tend to ignore "Smileys."

Tigger, wiith your display of the Union Jack as your avatar, there was never any question. But surrounded by "Indians?" I assume you mean Indians from Asia, and not what the PCnazis call "Native Americans." I am "Native American," but not of Red Indian descent, and I am often offended by the PCnazis also.

And back to Multiplex. There must be something good about them to get the market penetration they have in the face of their poor ads and lousy marketing. But I haven't found that good thing. Haw,

You buy Multiplex,
. I'll stay less complex.

Bill.

PS: T-bolt, the most beautiful Jug ever built, or to be built, will never approach your pit crewperson. Wish I had one even a fraction as nice. wr.
