Where is the best place to order the plane with the whole package. I need everything but the radio. I am also thinking about the YS 1.10. I am at an elevation of 5500ft in Colorado. Does the super charger offer any more benefit at altitude then one that is not supercharged. I plan on doing a mix of 3D and some precision. For my altitude what props would I want to try. Thanks for all the info.

Just test flew mine,OS 120FX,AWESOME!! . On low rates, its fantastic, daren't try high yet Engine has bags of power, transition was a little lumpy, probably due to the pressure nipple having broken off!
Reza,i have the "toed in" undercarriage,(Well 2 actually identical in the box!)
Should i contact Fusion Models here??
Superb model guys, 2 of my cubmates are ordering them on Monday!
Think that say's it all
Well done Quique and co,Fantastic Aeroplane!!

I picked one of these up at Joe Nall and have it just about ready to maiden. I have the toe'd in landing gear and hope it doesn't give me too much grief before I get it in the air. It's so bad I really can't use the wheel pants on it.

Other things: The elevator pushrod is too short to make it from the servo arm end to the horn on the elevator. There were less than 5 turns into each ball link when installing the servo as described with the spline facing foreward. I had to turn the servo with the spline facing aft and it works. Full throw on this is ~59mm. Even using the QQ included arm on a 8611sa and the new horn I can't get the 61mm described.
For the aileron and rudder I'm using the Hitec 5645s. Rudder is fine (although I had a 5645 go bonkers on me and had to swap it out for another) with all the throw described. The ailerons however don't get close to the 85mm throws. Is that really the correct amount? I am using a Hitec arm that has the same distance out to the ball as the QQ arm and just can't seem to get it dialed in. Its not that the servo doesn't have the throw (JR 8103 2.4 with 150% on the travel adjustment), it just seems the arm isn't long enough.
I have a Saito 125a in the front along with a big 'ole aluminum spinner that is keeping me from getting in the right balance range, so I suppose that may have to go (looks nice though!). I mounted the Saito inverted and ran it last night. It fired right up and seems to have plenty of power for this lightweight bird. I may see if I can mount the battery more toward the aft end (like just in back of and below the rudder servo across the two bulkheads) to get it to balance out. Speaking of balance, it would have been nice to get a balance range at the wing root (at the body) so I could use my balancer instead of at the wing tips. There is only a 1/2" range (6.5", 6.75" & 7" out there and my fingers are fatter than that!
The last thing is the decals. Where in the world would you put these and how would you see them if you did? I figured I'd put one of the 'Yak' ones on the nose, but all the other real estate is taken with the Brio look.

Anyway, I'm looking foreward to the maiden, which could be as early as tomorrow.

Dale

I am running the Saito 1.25 also and have a Li-Po 2200 mAh behind the rudder tray and between the two aft formers on the floor of the fuse. It balances at 6.5"
My elevator rod was also short. The servo arm is about 3 splines to the back, but I get full throw and then some on all surfaces. You shouldnt have a problem. Both of landing gear are similar in camber and toe. There is no problem with the gear holding up. I have done alot of harrier landings. I did however bend the tail gear wire doing tail drags along the runway. I just keep bending it back. Not the manufactures fault either.
Kick the tires and light the fires

I have a Saito 1.25 without a home and am seriously considering this plane due to it's low weight and good reputation. What, if any, "bad habits" does this plane have? Tip-stalls unexpectedly, needs speed when landing, snaps out of loops easily, etc? I saw someone post that they lost theirs when is "snaped out" of an inverted cuban-8. I also know that the Brio-10 suffered from tip-stalling much more than others in it's class. I enjoy flying planes that are very forgiving and just wanted to see how forgiving this one was.

Thanks,

Alan

What is the disadvantage or advantage of not using the yellow servo arm attachments. I used it on the elevator and when I went to do the rudder I noticed it was shorter than most of the thick plastic servo arms that came with the Hitec digital 5985MG servo arms. I used the double sided arm on the rudder that camd with the hitec servos. Is there more slop going to develop with the plastic ones by themselves. Are the plastic servo arms not strong enough by them selves? I really don't like the look of the very large round servo arm or the time drilling them and attaching the servo arm attachment that offers no extra throw. Thanks for any info
Joe

What are you guys using for servos? The manual says min 130 oz-inch for all surfaces. Just wondering if a lower torque can be used for ailerons and elevator?

Thanks Chris, I'll check those servos out. Can you tell me what is the total length of the fuse from spinner to rudder? This was not stated in the manual. Thanks

Hello John,

There is really no need to use Hyde mount on the YS 1.10. In all of our testing and the plane I fly, the stock mount has been used with no issues what so ever.

Thank you,
Reza

If we want to use a Hyde mount type A for the YS 1.10, will it fit?

Thanks for all the support,
Scott

Hi Scott,

I don't know! I've never had one to try.

Sorry.

Reza,

For the "record" the Hyde Mount and the 110/110-S or the Saito 125 will measure 5.5" firewall to the forward side of the thrust washer.
This dimension can change +/- 1/16th (a bit more in some cases) as the Hyde mount is hand made and has some variance in that dimension.

What is the desired firewall to forward side of the thrust washer for this plane?
I know that the scale YAK has a considerable distance between the cowl and the back of the spinner so this may or may not work on the model

Got any dimensions to share?

I asked the same question here: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7632665/tm.htm

If using the OS 1.20AX and drilling the supplied mounts as per the manual it will place the spinner backplate at 5.5" so your hyde mount should be a drop in fit without the need for any firewall spacers.
