yeah trim would work, but again the idea here was to introduce a lot of fuel with the nitro which would require half a turn id say, anyway, i dont want to argue, i just dont think its practical when a higher percentage of nitro does the exact same thing and gives more than 8 seconds.

What im saying is that tuning it is a fine process that a servo cant do, cos you dont know how far the servo will have turned it. therefor its not possible to be accurate enough to tune it .

well i thought tuning the engine was mostly listening to it and seeing how fast the car would run when you put it down and give it throttle? since your already running your car anyway wouldnt a servo connected to the needle just let you tune the car without having to pick it up ?

dude7422 has a point, if these nitrous shots have lubrication added into them, it will help prolong the life of the engine

but imagine such a setup, you hit a button on your tx, and for a fraction of a second your engine bogs while the servo turns the hsn , followed by a huge surge of power as the servo hits the toggle... lift the button and the engine goes back to the way it was
on my radio , you could set the position of the servo between its 'button pressed' and 'button not pressed' state, so if i were to do this mod i could technically tune the engine just like i set my epa or dual rates...

ok, tell me why you would not just use more nitro and save 2 freaking hundred USD?

And you dont have to pick your car up when you tune it, just drive it in front of you and put the screwdriver through the tuning hole.

yes i get your point, the truck still needs to have some manual attention, but heck since were already talking about mounting nitrous bottles and extra servos and stuff....whoever does this for real probably already has that 200 usd spent on their car already, and we arent going to stop them are we?

nope, but did i not point out earlier, that 12 engines are far too powerful as it is? do you disagree?

no way, an extra small shim per 10% over 20 %. easy.

Anyway for 200 US you can have a hot mods 12. and ive driven a hot mods 12LL3, it was so fast the mugen owner had to replace driveshafts EVERY race. it came out of the final (winner) with driveshafts that had twisted all the way around and a lil bit more.

Dude7422 I dont think you get what me and dann are trying to say here.

Why spend that $200 on a nitrous system for 8 seconds of power when you can get a better engine that offers that power all the time and you dont have to keep on pulling it in to change the bottle and get another 8 seconds.

As for the servo and it richening the HSN how dfo you know it will richen it enough or over richen it. You would almost have to come up with a way to do that, now having end points for the servo would be the cheap way out but you still cant ensure that if offers what you want or need. Or you can add an oxygen sensor and go that route. Then you would need a computer and you would need to know how to set that all up.

There's just to many problems to try and keep this thing going without blowing up your engine or at least hurting it. A new engine offers so much less headache's and more power.

yes i know that servo richening of the engine to go with a nitrous system like this is completely unexplored territory , the opposite of what tuning an engine normally is... all i can think of is to take your truck to a dyno and run lots of tests and simply judge by the increase in power

a new engine is the normal way of getting more power, but normal = boring for some people... these people usually have money to spend to try out new things
in the end its probably gonna be 200 bucks for this nitrous system and as many replacement engines as neccesary to trial and error on
